Ok really what is with the rise of TV networks that just show random ass shows that have absolutely nothing to do with the Network. IE
History Channel=Ice road Truckers....How is a show about Ice Road Truckers Historical if it is about stuff that happened within the last year or so? This is a like a show you expect on Discovery Channel or A&E
Or that Network's Idea that History is only Stuff from the Bible or 1939-Now....
A&E=Shows that are nether Arts or Entertainment....Speaks for its self.
ESPN Classic=Non Classic Sports.... All they have had on recently is billiards, Boxing and Poker. I'm Sorry But three are FAR more entertaining sports then billiards and Poker to watch. Why not Show old Baseball games, since it is Baseball Season... Or old Wimbledon, since it is going on now. Nope Its either billiards, Boxing Poker or possibally some Random match up of UMASS vs Notre Dame from last year.
ESPNU-International soccer... For an American I really do like Soccer, And even more International ones, but come on..It has the word University in the title, So unless there is the University of USA playing the University of Korea i think it could find a better home. Not that I do not mind watching it, but ESPNU is not it's home
MTV-Yea.... No explanation
NICKGAS=4 Shows... There are more then 4 shows in Nick's Vault, Stop Showing the same shows all day every day with the same eppisode playing 4 times in one day
NICKTOONS-See NICKGAS
G4-Cops and other shows like that.... What does Cops from 1996 have to do with gaming and Electronics...Nothing last time I checked, so why is it there then?
TLC-Non Learning Channel stuff... So I'm supposed to learn how to watch Midgets live and how some idiot got fat from eating rolls of paper... HOW THE HELL IS THAT LEARNING? When your Network is called the learning Channel, give me something to learn.
Fell free to add other stuff that you have noticed, Sorry bout the rant but TV would be better of networks did what there names say they would

Playing devils advocate a bit, TLC rarely refers to itselkf as the Learning Channel anymore.
And I believe Ice road Truckers is on the History channel is becasue they aired the original documentary that inspired it.
But yeah, when the cable conglomerate stations start breaking format and become dumping ground for some ad execs next "big idea" it is a real pain in the butt

I agree totally with NickGAS, although they actually air six different shows (Figure It Out, Nick Arcade, Guts, Get The Picture, Double Dare, and Legends of the Hidden Temple). Still, considering all the shows they've aired throughout the years on Nickelodean, I would expect at least 15 different shows per day.
Also, VH1 - See: MTV

No biggie 4-6 still too few

I agree with TLC. It used to be something like the Discovery Channel (one of the best networks IMO) back in the 90's. Nowadays, I don't even watch it.
What has happened to TechTv makes me cry. The merger between them and G4 at first looked like it had promise. I never got G4 and being able to get my hard tech news and entertainment coupled with gaming shows seemed like a match made in heaven. Then the bright folks at G4 started axing all the shows from TechTv and firing the good talent.
Look at it now. Reruns of Star Trek, Cops, and other shows that have ZERO to do with gaming. THe gaming shows they do have aren't very good (X-Play included, it is a shell of it's former glorious self). The one good (or not so bad) point is AOTS (Attack of the Show). I can see what they want to do with it, as it talks about gaming, tech, movies, tv, and the like. But they killed TechTv's best show (The Screen Savers) in order to create it. The hosts aren't very good, but if they were a bit more serious, maybe they'd get my viewership (As an aside, The Loop, a segment tackling current issues, is very well done and I've always thought they should spin it off into it's own show)

That show is great. Now, they're hard to find. I can only watch OnDemand clips.

The problem with ESPN Classic is they get crappy ratings no matter what they show. So it's a lot cheaper to show boxing from ESPN 2 in 2004 then to buy old games to show.
ABC Family showing episodes of Boy Meets World that center around potential rape and other adult themes from the later years of the show is definately not family programming.
Toon Disney shows live acton shows, such as Power Rangers every day.
YES shows New Jersey Nets games.
Turner Classic Movies shows 30 minute blocks of cartoons regularly.

ABC Family shows a lot of movies that aren't exactly movies I'd let my mom watch, let alone my kids.

In defense of the History Channel, most of their programming, I'd say almost 99% worth, is history related. Ice Road Truckers seems to be the only show on the network that doesn't have some sort of histy behind it.

G4's the biggest criminal of them all. The schedule speaks for itself, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it folds soon.

WE - Women's Entertainment. Was flipping through the channels a while back and THE NATURAL was on so I decided to watch it. Noticed the bottom of the screen had the "WE" logo on it. I always considered THE NATURAL to be a guy film not a chick flick. They also had FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF on yesterday. That's not really a gender specific demographiced film (even tho the protagonist is a guy and he's not really that romantic with his girlfriend).

AMC, which stands for American Movie Classics, shows Catwoman. That movie is sure as hell not a classic.

I've NEVER watched any of the shows on G4 before it merged with Tech TV, other than the Cinema show (whatever it was called, I forget) that showed FMVs from games. That was awesome. TechTV was great. I watched that almost all the time. I loved almost everything...and they axed all of it. It's over. Seeing G4 die out would put a smile on my face. It's long past overdue.

Before they changed their name to "Versus," OLN (Outdoor Life Network) was showing Arena Football and NHL games.
When ESPN Classic canceled Cheap Seats, they in return gave me no reason to watch that channel. A little off-topic here, but does anyone know of the possibility of a Cheap Seats DVD?

The Sci Fi Channel showing movies like "Braveheart" and "Misery". Are either Science Fiction or Supernatural Horror?

Go on the ESPN Classic site, and if there's a way to request it, go ahead and try. You probably weren't the only fan.

My friend loved G4 and then they moved it to the digital package, which he can't afford and was pissed.
