I'm with you. The older Eminem stuff is what made me a fan. Not so much these days, but going back listening to the older stuff is always worth it.

I miss the Real Slimy Shady era eminem
back when he used to do a bunch of underground stuff with Eastern Conference/Rawkus and such.
He just seems bored and uninspired now

At the same time, while his stuff was good in the early days... times have changed. He's grown older, and alot of the fun rhymes are gone.
He said what he needed to say, what's left?

Honestly I prefer the later stuff to his earlier stuff.
But honestly no matter what it is, it's all amazing. Em is brililant.

I didn't like Encore so much. But most of his music I can tolerate.

Yeah his early stuff was awesome. I still like his later stuff, but nothing can top that early Eminem I don't think.

He said what he needed to say, what's left? That's how I see it. How many more "My mother/ex-wife" are evil or "(Insert band/singer) sucks" songs does he need to make.

Those videos are what made me like Eminem...along with my older cousin's influence.
And yes, I miss that Eminem as well.
Slim Shady LP - 2nd Best Marshall Mathers LP - Better than anything BY FAR Eminem Show - it's ok Encore - Killed it. Some of the songs on there annoy the crap out of me.
of course, that's just the way I see things. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll be listening to "Kill You"

Kinda weird to think that Eminem was actually on The Warped Tour back then

The Eminem Show was my favorite, then Marshall Mathers LP. Mashall Mathers LP has Stan, Remember Me, The Real Slim Shady, The Way I Am and The Kids (on the clean version), but The Eminem Show has Halies Song, White America, Without Me, Cleanin Out My Closet, and Sing For The Moment. Meh I guess they are kinda tied with me after thinking about it, I unno...

I loved the Marshall Mathers LP. A friend of mine had it, and I use to listen to it a lot when he brought it over to my house or I went to his. Great stuff.

I agree with Hammer, he does sound bored now. He used to sound so hungry and have real fire in his rhymes.

Once he lost his annoying whinny-guy voice I tuned out. That's what made him what he was, he sounded different and wrote differently.

White trash/f***ing your wife in the ass/while you're out siphoning gas for the lawnmower to cut the grass. Simply Brilliant! I LOVED his first two albums (Slim Shady LP, Marshall Mathers LP). He was so hungry and raw. He just oozed lyrical skill. I tuned him out after the Eminem Show. He lost the anger and the passion that he had in his earlier stuff. If I need some Em, I find his freestyles and listen to those. Him and Cassidy are my two favorite freestyle artists.

He may still have passion, but it isn't what made me fall in love with his work. To me, he's lost his edge.
