man. someone spits at me. i'll puch em in their mush. no ifs ands or buts about it. No if's, ands, or buts? But DO YOU HAVE IT? GUTS! D.A.R.E is pretty cool... but by then, the kids that are going to do drugs are doing drugs, and the kids that aren't, aren't. That program is not going to change their mind.

My mom said that if I ever did drugs, she would kill me. That did more for me than the D.A.R.E program ever could. Now I've never smoked or done drugs, but I do love the sauce.

At least you young whippersnappers got D.A.R.E. programs. Back in school in the 80's (damn, I'm old) we had really crapty anti drug movies. I remember one that I believe was called Dead is Dead. It had a black host talking somberly with mood music in the background. The message was plain and simple; if you do drugs, you will die (oh god we pissed off out health teacher by snickering and laughing throughout this movie. The only other thing I can remember about this film is that it had a real hot ethnic chick in it). Yeah ... right. And we had Nancy Regan's Just Say No bullcrap going around as well. And they brought in this motivational speaker to talk to us about the evils of drugs and alcohol. And do you have any idea how hard it is listening to someone droning on and on about drugs and alcohol while you're nursing a 3 star hangover? ;D Ah, those propaganda films. Same acting "quality" as found in the film Reefer Madness, which is pretty out there... *laughs*

D.A.R.E. is still around? havent seen the Gruff commercials here in like 15 years. I understand what the original poster means tho, theres always these religous groups in front of Wal Mart here that begs everyone to buy their clothing, their candy, etc. When u walk on by, they stop talkin and give u the evil eye but when u buy their stuff, they shout like crazy.....PRAISE HEAVENS! UR GOING TO HEAVEN FOR THIS! GOD BLESS YEWWWWW!

Geez.. I would've pimp slapped her.
What was "IT", anyway?
She seems like the type to push her little idealism on someone for no real reason, but some people can't take no for an answer.

Best thing about them was the teacher always turned the lights out, so it was a nice quick nap for most of us.
