As much as it's cool that we get this Ike character (no idea who it is) I'm kind of annoyed with so many realistic characters, hopefully they go back to more of the old Nintendo styled characters such as Mario and Kirby. Agreed. I'd rather have more cartoony NES characters (Such as maybe a Hammer Bro, Lakitu, old school Ganon, Bowser Jr, etc) or outside characters like Solid Snake, instead of guys from a niche title that isn't even that hot in America. Was thinking it'd be neat if they could get 1-2 chars from each developer. Like, Snake is from Konami....how about Blanka from Capcom? I've even worked out his special moves....of course I dunno how SSB Brawl will control, so I'll describe it with GameCube Melee controls. B (tap): Electric Shock, keeps going as long as you tap B Left or Right + B: Rolling Attack. Chargable by holding and releasing B Up + B: Vertical Rolling. Down + B: Blanka stomps the ground, causing fruit to fall to the ground that can be kicked and thrown at your opponents to damage them, or eaten by Blanka to replenish health. C'mon, tell me that wouldn't be awesome.....

Bumped for the newcomer, Ike. So we get a new Fire Emblem character. Safe to assume Marth and/or Roy are out now. I wonder which one Ike plays like, or if he'll be different from both of them. But regardless, pretty freaking neat call, picking someone from a Fire Emblem we actually have here in America. I cannot wait to give this baby a go. The post mentioned him being a powerhouse and holding a two-handed sword with one hand... I think he's the power to Marth's speed, and that would leave Roy to the unemployment line. Also, to those complaining about a guy from a game that isn't popular here (Lookin' at you Godz), remember, at least for a second that the game is made primarily with Japanese gamers in mind...

Seriously, people were trying to give legit reasons why people like Tidus, a person from a game (Final Fantasy X) with NO relation to Nintendo AT ALL should be in. It was so lame. Seriously, character lists that looked like this were posted on an hourly basis... When we all know in reality... The #'s of doors of fandom and stupidity that were opened when Snake was announced are impossible to count. But I WILL say, that the movelist itself you cam up with is very good, its just kindof hard to see it happening is all. Possible? Amazingly, more than many of the other "educated suggestions" I have heard.

Well, they MIGHT still nuke Marth in favor of a different Fire Emblem character, or Ike himself might also be fast. They never did mention his speed in any way. Of course, then we could easily say they've overpowered him to the moon. I do like the Aether attack. I read the Fire Emblem Path of Radiance faq on gamefaqs and they said it does some good damage to the opponent while healing Ike. This could come in handy. IF he is a default character, then its down to him or Mario as the first one I am taking a spin with when I get the game. I am pretty good with Marth, Roy used to be my best, but I am now best with Mario (though I MUCH prefer Dr. Mario).

Wait is Snake still in the game? I can't find anything with him on the official site. I would assume yes, as the two trailers on the site have him in it. It would be on the news on gamespot or gamefaqs if it changed. If it changes, then I will post so on here and make the appropriate changes to the first post, which has EVERYTHING announced on the game so far and is updated as soon as I can get to it (Generally in the morning or as soon as the site updates if I can stay up that long, though I've been late a few times for laptop troubles and parents screwing up AOL settings so I couldn't get here). Let me clarify, gamefaqs and gamespot are awesome for news or needing help with games. Their forum community is THE worst on the net IMO though.

Castle Seige from Fire Emblem. Long story short, the level from the trailer that we all thought was Hyrule Castle.
Supposedly there is a third part to the stage that has yet to be seen...I assume its something weird that puts them back to the top of the stage or something.
And BTW, this thread has been up for an entire month today. Sweet. Definately better than anything I did on Gamefaqs.

If they were from Zelda, the symbols on the flags would've been triforces. I believe the third part of the castle stage is just some underground thing. It'll also most likely be the last part of the stage. And when are they going to put up Metaknights profile? It's been over 2 months now and they have all the for the nintendo characters from the trailers except him.

Hey I've actually got a SSB Melee question but figured it could go here. For some reason, I can't get any new Event matches to show up after 27, I can't find the answer in a FAQ and if I asked on the GameFaqs board everyone would just answer "OMFG N00B" and such, so, can anyone tell me why they wont unlock?

I've heard people make excuses why Mickey Mouse and Rock Lee should be in the game, it's just mind boggling the idea that people come up with.

You figured correctly, I'll help ya. Yeah, gamefaqs isn't so great, they assume everyone on the board has the game beat already. If you are late buying a popular game, dont even think of going there for help, they'll do that every time. Anyway, here is what you needed... I dunno what events you have cleared yet, so I will help with the tougher ones. I know for #30-#39, you need Luigi, Falco, Young Link, and have beaten Trophy Tussle 2. Trophy Tussle 2 is event #26, so I'd try to knock that out if you haven't already. For the Gargantuans one, just sit there and pepper DK with quick attacks and the flame, dont even move. I honest to God cannot remember ever getting a legit win here, simply clearing off of DK falling into the pit in sheer A.I. stupidity. And of course there is the old standby of using DK on Super Mario 128 and the Yoshi challenge and just using the Down+B ground slap attack endlessly. If you havent done those, doing it with DK is stupidly easy. Remember him for the 100 man and 15 minute melee, though those might proove tougher, but I will let you cross those bridges yourself. Also, when you hit event #29, that is the Ganondorf challenge. Pass it and he challenges you a second time at Final Destination. Win again, and he is yours. The only catch is that event #29 REQUIRES you to do Link, and if you fail, you have to do the event again with Link. The only way to challenge otherwise is cranking the # of vs. matches. Just something to keep in mind.

Before I show these pics and my opinion on them, let me get the character confirmation out of the way Peach was kindof a given, but now we can say she will be in it. Almost looks like some mutated Pokemon...weird. I cannot be the only person who saw that ship and thought "Wizpig?!"...of course, then I'd have to admit to having played Diddy Kong Racing, and I'd never do that here...eh heh heh...ugh. Also, look at the bottom left corner, check our little purple buddy. Meta Knight throwing down against some...weird opponents in a desert level that looks similar to the E3 video. Multiple purple dudes! Note that they all look somewhat different. Safe to assume now that they aren't friendly. Temple-ish level...and the scariest ass sheep I have ever seen. Arwing being chased down by the ship that we once thought was Meta Night's. The rest of the pics I didnt think were that big of a deal, but include Fox fighting a Hammer Bro (or so it seems), and Pit dodging Bullet Bills. Otherwise, it was just screen shots. ...amazing. This is gonna be alot more different than we thought. There is also a video of some of this stuff, I roll dialup so I have yet to see it completely, but check it out too. There is a vid on the site, but the awesome Vyse has provided it to us by way of God's gift to the internet, Youtube. Check the post above this one.

I really hope all these extra characters don't show up whil you're in the middle of a battle. It was already annoying enough to have the RWings shooting at while you're performing a smash attack.

I had actually already cleared 30 and unlocked Gannondorf and had forgotten, but the reason the next set of challenges (which are f***ing hard!) hadn't appeared was because I didn't have Young Link yet. But last night I unlocked him, Roy, Marth, and Pichu. I think I just have Mewtwo and G&W to go.

But last night I unlocked him, Roy, Marth, and Pichu. I think I just have Mewtwo and G&W to go. If you need help anymore either post here or shoot me a message. I will be glad to help. Now for alot of extra info. For Mewtwo just go to a vs. game with 4 or 5 stock, NO WEAPONS, NO CPU PLAYERS, on a level with NO HAZARDS (Hyrule Temple is where I went), start the match, and shut the TV off (NOT the system) and let it run overnight. Next morning, turn it back on, have SOMEBODY win (particularly who you want to challenge Mewtwo with), then after the results the challenge drops. Also, if you fail, just fight another versus match for another shot, nothing too big. Also, for some weird reason, the # of human players you have when doing this cuts down how much time you need. If you have four controllers in supposedly it only takes 3/4 of the time it takes with two. If you only have one controller...you might have to do it the hard way...and question why you have the game to be honest. Mewtwo is worth the trouble though, he is definately dangerous in the right hands. The Shadow ball is similar to Samus's beam only that when charging the ball it can do damage to anyone who comes close. He also has an attack that stuns opponents setting them up perfectly for a charged Shadow Ball. His smash attacks arent wonderful, but he makes up for it in throws and the Shadow Ball. For Game and Watch, you need to beat Classic or Target Test with ALL characters at that point INCLUDING Mewtwo, so dont even attempt it without making sure you have EVERYONE. He will then challenge you. Be careful, the level he is at is one you have not dealt with yet, and is very small. Not alot of room for error. If you screw up, then simply beat classic mode or a target test with your character of your choosing to get another shot. Also, once you get Game and Watch All-Star opens up, which is a survival mode of sorts. There is a third trophy for everyone, and extra ones (Wario, for example, if you dont use a continue) for certain things. And, if you beat Classic as Game and Watch, you get the level you fought him in. BTW, without spoiling anything (in case ya dont know), when you hit event #50, Ganondorf or Falcon are Godz (pun intended) there. And event #51...youd be a damn fool not to use Jigglypuff on that...trust me.

I was just thinking about that today actually. Monday will probably be Peach. Everyone already knows of Meta Knight, it would be kindof random for it to be him...of course, not a big surprise. I am not a big Kirby fan. I somewhat know who Meta Knight is, but not totally clued in on who he is.
