I think it says something about me and A. Unclad that one night a couple months ago, I ended up showing her lots of these into the wee wee hours. Such nerds are we.

Not nerds at all Slim. A few of us were fortunate enough to grow up with this show. Nothing wrong with revisiting something so purely positive as Sesame Street.

Seriously...this show was a great influence on me (along with Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood). It's sad that the "innocence" that Sesame Street used to have (with all the clips we're all sharing/remembering/celebrating here) is really not a part of the show anymore. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

Sadly the world is different now and the show is focused to much younger kids. It's not the Sesame the I grew up on. Heck I don't think Telly is even on the show anymore.

I loved Sesame Street but it was always on during school where I lived. Still, every time I was sick and stayed at home, you can bet I would watch. Cookie monster was my favourite, and we got a dog that we even named after him. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) I always believed Sesame Street was the only kids show you could admit you watch to your friends and not feel embarrased about it...or at least I did.

My son liked Elmo for about a year timespan. Since then, it's all about Cookie Monster. That's my boy. And this is my absolute favorite clip combining two of the greatest elements ever: Madeline Kahn and Grover

What sparked Elmo into being the star anyway? Was it just the Tickle Me Elmo doll that caused this? That had a role. But late 80's early 90's they wanted to add a new Male/Female set to push. Thats how we got that Hispanic Orange chick who did not take off as much. I think you're thinking of Zoey.
