Personally, I love the strip, but I'm aware of the hate it generates so sometimes I feel in the minority on this one. When the LA Times dropped it from their comics section, it made national news for crissakes!
To the haters, you may be interested in this delightful meme I heard of where people remove Garfield's "dialog", forcing you to view it from Jon's perspective. The strip takes on a surreal, absurdest quality that even non-fans say is hilarious.

I like it, but I'm an even bigger fan of the "Garfield and Friends" cartoon show. That's some quality stuff right there.

I used to love Garfield, but after 30 years, it's lost its zing. My kids still look forward to seeing Garfield, but I have other comics that are "must read". I only read Garfield now because it's usually at the top or on the front page of the comics section.

Just in case it resizes too small to read: img517.imageshack.us/img517/911/ga071119ox7.gifI like Garfield and have one of the collections lying around somewhere, but the Garfield and Friends cartoon was better. I can tolerate the movie for Jennifer Love Hewitt. ;D

I LOVE Garfield. The comic strip, the tv shows and specials, the plush toys, the motivational (or rather um-motivational) posters, etc. Garfield is my homeboy.

I'll take my line from Robot Chicken:"I'm sorry, I just couldnt take another f***ing lasagna joke"
Also from the little gray cat: "I'm dying, I'm dying. Oh I'm so cute and I'm dying"

My favorite comic ever, right alongside Calvin and Hobbes. It's not as good now, but it still makes me laugh more than anything on the papers. The old stuff is still hilarious.

Here's a link to many Garfield comics. www.singularity.be/comics/garfield/I love Garfield comics. They are freakin' hilarious. The best ones are the ones when Jon fails to get a date.

At one time it was good, but he shoulda learned from Gary Larson and bowed out when he was still at the top. It's become like so many strips that have been around for decades, the same punchlines, the same 'going through the motions' feel.

The Chicken Little one is one of my favorites. This thread reminds me, I have to add this to my list of TV shows that I need to collect on DVD.
