Halford, but it was a tough decision.
Ozzy was superb in Black Sabbath, but nowhere close in his solo work, which as a composite doesn't add up to any of the three choices in the poll.
Hetfield was the best of the Big Four of Thrash (as far as vocals go), but in terms of overall Thrash, I prefer Bobby Ellsworth (Overkill) and Mille Petrozza (Kreator).
Howard Jones is a good vocalist, no doubt about that, but the fact is that he is a Metalcore singer, which is a different genre. If we just said no to genre, then someone could storm in and say that Huey Lewis is the best Heavy Metal singer.

"metalcore" isn't a seperate genre..but one of the 18 million sub genres of heavy metal.
I consider heavy metal a big tree with all these different branches..yes some of it has grown a different way but its still heavy metal at its core.
But again..labels are silly.

Man... voice-wise, I'd have to go with Dickinson.
But I'm more of a Priest fan than anything he or Dio has ever done.
