So, are you a fan of Dog the Bounty Hunter, or i guess i should say were you a fan of Dog? If you were and now ain't is it because of his "racist" tirade that was released.
Personally I'm still a fan of his. Sure I don't agree with what he said, but you can't deny all the good he has done, and in this case i think it outweighs the negatives.

I liked Cartman as Dog if that counts for anything.

I'm probably going to be in the minority with a very unpopular opinion, but I think he got shafted pretty hard. Not only did he lose everything he had for something that he said in the privacy of his own home that his own son turned around and leaked to the press at his father's expense for a quick payoff, I fail to see how his personal opinions and beliefs are anybody's business but his own. I don't care at all, AT ALL if he used a racial slur in a private conversation, who hasn't? You've never, EVER seen that affect the way he's treated anybody on his show; everybody got the same treatment and the same respect regardless of their race or gender or anything else you could possibly judge someone for.
I'm pretty much just against any form of suppression of free speech.

I'm pretty much just against any form of suppression of free speech. The fact that his son betrayed him has made his son a pariah in the bounty hunting business. No one, and I mean no one, wants to work with him(and bounty hunting is a team effort, you can't do it solo if you want to be successful). So...in exchange for that quick pay off, his son screwed not only his dad but himself in the long run. Both are pretty much finished in the bounty hunting business now.

I don't have a problem with what he said, I have a problem with his program making out that inbred hillbilly conservative cracker some kind of hero in a failure of a system, the cycle of which he is helping to continue. smurf him.

I loved the fact that (and I'm paraphrasing) he 'though [he] was cool enough in the black community to use that word.'

If people can forgive Benoit for killing and eating his family then people can forgive Dog. His sins are more forgivable and I still like his show.

Always have liked him, always will.
Not that I'm defending what he said, but it was taken way out of context, and most importantly was a PRIVATE call meant for ONE person to hear.
Is there anyone here who has NEVER said anything that they didn't want to get out? If so, feel free to judge him.

I lose respect for people who are racists.
Doesn't mean I hate them..or wouldn't be cordial to them..but to me it's such a stupid train of thought I can't really take them seriously, nor give them the respect I'd give someone who has evolved past that bullreindeer droppings.

I just don't like the idea of bounty hunters in a civilised country. Well there are just some criminals the cops are either too lazy to catch or are too busy to catch, and some one has to catch them.

Not to mention that criminals themselves are often uncivilized, and so sometimes you gotta fight fire with fire.

I think the bounty hunters should have to go through the same training and be held to the same standards as any law enforcement officer. And really...they do what they do to simply "catch criminals"..but rather.."make money." Sure the public can benefit from a well regulated bounty hunter program but that program exists for profit..not the social good.

Anyone who still intentionally has a mullet this far into the 2000's, I can't take seriously. ;D
Nah, actually, I never really got into the show, and just as I said about Michael Richards a year ago, I just can't look at him the same way.
I understand it was a private conversation, and not knowing all the facts, maybe his son did kind of screw him over, but really ... don't use that word if you don't mean it.
If you're a racist, be a racist and use racist words. At least then I'll know where you're coming from. Don't drop the N-bomb and then say "Oh I thought it was okay." No, you didn't. You were alive during the '60s, man. You saw what went down. Don't be ignorant.

I'd prefer public law enforcement authorities to catch wanted persons rather than these private bounty hunters.
