Well there are just some criminals the cops are either too lazy to catch or are too busy to catch, and some one has to catch them. I think the bounty hunters should have to go through the same training and be held to the same standards as any law enforcement officer. And really...they do what they do to simply "catch criminals"..but rather.."make money." Sure the public can benefit from a well regulated bounty hunter program but that program exists for profit..not the social good. There is a program just for that. At least in Vegas.

Same holds true for any profession. I agree with the training and standards, though.

Not to mention that criminals themselves are often uncivilized, and so sometimes you gotta fight fire with fire. Exactly, not to mention that Bounty Hunters have more connections and inside people then cops do.

Yeah, I think as far as carrer choices go, the only cops that are in it for the money are ones that are dirty and getting paid off or the ones that have no where else to turn (kind of like going into the army) after loosing an old job. If people are looking to get paid, police work ISN'T the way to go.

Dog said in that recorded conversation with his son it was not because the girl was black. The only reason he had a problem with it was because he does say the N word sometimes and didn't want her to get offended and go to the media because look what happens when something like that gets to the media.

I'm probably going to be in the minority with a very unpopular opinion, but I think he got shafted pretty hard. Not only did he lose everything he had for something that he said in the privacy of his own home that his own son turned around and leaked to the press at his father's expense for a quick payoff, I fail to see how his personal opinions and beliefs are anybody's business but his own. I don't care at all, AT ALL if he used a racial slur in a private conversation, who hasn't? You've never, EVER seen that affect the way he's treated anybody on his show; everybody got the same treatment and the same respect regardless of their race or gender or anything else you could possibly judge someone for. I'm pretty much just against any form of suppression of free speech. The fact that his son betrayed him has made his son a pariah in the bounty hunting business. No one, and I mean no one, wants to work with him(and bounty hunting is a team effort, you can't do it solo if you want to be successful). So...in exchange for that quick pay off, his son screwed not only his dad but himself in the long run. Both are pretty much finished in the bounty hunting business now. I didn't know Tucker was a bounty hunter, too. He's the one that just got out of prison last year. I did find this, though: So, if the chairman of the Congress for Racial Equality thinks this isn't as big a deal as it's made out to be, it really must not be. I haven't heard the tape, but I also know that Tucker didn't win any points by selling it to the National Enquirer.

Unless you do it for free, your motives aren't purely based on attempting to do good things. So cops are in the same boat as bounty hunters: they do what they do for the greater good and to get paid, not just for the greater good.

No one with a mullet should be allowed out of the house, forget on national TV.

Yeah, but don't think they're doing it JUST to get paid, or else they'd go in a higher paying, way easier (Stress, working hours, physical harm, etc) line of work. I'm not saying I disagree with you, I'm just agreeing with Biafra on the fact that cops don't get paid shit and it's not a great line of work to choose if all that's on your mind if getting paid.

I doubt all do become cops just to get paid, just like I doubt all bounty hunters become bounty hunters just to get paid. Motives are rarely so clear-cut as that. I'm just pointing out that to judge bounty hunters based upon them doing something for money is a bit trivial when everyone does that to one degree or another.

I personally say who cares what the Bounty Hunters motive is, if he's helping he's helping.

I never watched it that much, so I'd say no. I don't have an opinion one way or the other about his racist comments. Though I would motorboat the hell out of his wife. Jeebus, those are big!

The only reason he had a problem with it was because he does say the N word sometimes and didn't want her to get offended and go to the media because look what happens when something like that gets to the media. I also thought it funny that the context was ignored. I honestly know people who use every awful word known to man. For those that have never met and actually known someone like this it seems impossible to conceive of an environment in which these words flow like water. Prison is one of those worlds. Although I have never been, it really does seem that those that have, regardless of race, are simply different for the experience and frankly this is one of the differences I've seen. In prison EVERYTHING is devided on race lines whether you like it or not. So its my guess that you go along to get along so to speak. Dog seemed sincere. The word could slip in an uncontrolled moment, but in his heart I doubt he actually wants to be like that. Everyone deserves forgiveness, even when it is so easy and conveiniant to look down your nose and condemn. Allowing people who seek change to do so is the only way to encourage others to follow suit.
