OOooh Leviathan...that album kicks ass. I think I like Blood Mountain a little better...but both albums are great stuff.

Any of Sufjan Stevens stuff, but mainly his current project of relasing 50 albums with each one being themed around each one of the states in the U.S.A.
Either that or "Apostrophe (')" by Frank Zappa.

I am so disappointed that no one else has even mentioned Queensryche's "Operation: Mindcrime". Hell, they were able to headline an arena tour with a full album performance as the featured act.

Mindcrime is indeed awesome, as is Mindcrime II. As I said earlier...I was tired so I was forgetting quite a few. Hell, I had an Operation:MINDCRIME gimmick going on here for a little while.

Second for Mindcrime, I'll also nominate Seventh Son of a Seventh Son by Iron Maiden.

Test Icicles: For Screening Purposes OnlyBut what was the concept? Well, three guys who sort of enjoy each other's company record music they don't even like, then break up. (But for reals, The Downward Spiral.)

How about Scenes from a Memory by Dream Theater, with its accompanying live album....

Awesome album. Everything about it is just... well... perfect. Too bad they never even came close to being that good again.

The only album of theirs that even approaches Mindcrime, as far as I'm concerned, is Mindcrime II. And that was, what...20 years later?

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - Iron Maiden, listening to it from start to finished has an unmatched epicness
The Chemical Wedding - Bruce Dickinson, not so much a story (although the title track and The Alchemist are a story) but every single song is based on the works of William Blake.
The Crimson Idol - W.A.S.P., I don't even like this band, but this album borders perfection from start to finish.
Them - King Diamond also rules.
