I predict a blazing argument. Let's just say there are about 40 - 50% of us here that disagree

I agree that Transformers was an excellent movie and should win an Academy Award for Best Picture if they even have the ceromony if the wrtiers strike is still going on.

Easily in my top 5 of all time. to quote Kurt Cobain: "I wish I was like you, easily amused" granted, I liked the movie. But to call it the best movie of 2007, is a stretch. to have it on your top 5 list of the greatest movies of all time, is probably an even bigger stretch

It was fun. Calling it the best of 2007 is a stretch though! I have to admit once I heard Peter Cullen say "I am Optimus Prime", nostalgia took over and I felt like I was 7 years old for the rest of the flick.

I've only seen in once, when I saw it on opening weekend.
And yet I enjoyed it quite a lot and felt it was a lot better than what I thought it would be (dreadful)...

I think it's a great Fun movie. NOt the best of 07... i mean you have 3:10 to Yuma, Super Bad, Knocked up, No COuntry... to many good movies to name it best of 07, but fun and entertaining, yes it is.

I thought it was great, especially compared to the utter shite of POTC3 and Spider-man 3 earlier in the year.

It can't be the worst movie of the year, from a nerd stand point, since there's Ghost Rider and Spider-Man 3 fighting over that title. But it's faaaar from the best. Did have a few, very brief, decent moments, but largely it was quite atrocious. The Decepticreeps needed to look different, otherwise, besides Megatron you've got nothing but a group of black painted evil-doers. You don't pee on Autobots.

I can understand not liking it, but I never can understand people saying they "hated it"... to quote Scott Ramsoomair of VGCats... YOU HAVE ONE TOKEN HUMAN AND THEN YOU MAKE WAY FOR THE F***ING ROBOTS! That's how you do a movie called TRANSFORMERS, not a movie called Transformers that was more like "Shia LeBouf tries to get some while Robots duke it out"

I just saw the movie for the first time Saturday. Thought it was great. I don't think it'll be up for best picture (3:10 TO YUMA, ENCHANTED has some buzz, possibly WE OWN THE NIGHT). It may get a BATMAN type nom tho. When I read people complain about the pulling down the pants scene, I was expecting an actual pantsing, what was actually there wasn't an attempt at a lame joke (IMO) Out of the films I've seen this year, I would agree that it is in the top 5 (OCEANS13 would have to be the top one for me (I have yet to see the three I put as Oscar contenders). I will admit that I marked out when Prime said "Autobots, roll out"
