So.
I recently got a new computer, and took the hard drive out of my old one for this one as well.
The old one was XP, this is Vista.
Anyhow, I have to download iTunes again (you can't copy programs from hard drive to hard drive, as is my understanding), I open it, and all my music is gone. Now, some of the stuff is in my music folder, but I've lost all of the CDs I imported directly into iTunes.
But surely the data is somewhere on the old hard drive, right?
Can anyone tell me where I can find it before I lose my mind?

if you still have your old computer : transfer the music files from your old one to your new one (look online on how to do that) (yes you can transfer files and programs)
if you don't have your old computer : you're screwed.

All your data should still be on the old hard drive and all you'll have to do is import it into iTunes again.
Open iTunes, then go File -> Import Folder To Library.
When you're in the import window, get to the My Computer (or whatever My Computer is called on Vista) bit and select your old hard drive.
Then go Documents and Settings -> [Your XP User Name] -> My Documents -> My Music -> iTunes -> iTunes Music. Click OK to import it all.
I've never used Vista and try to avoid using iTunes, so that might not be exactly how it works... but anyway, I hope it helps.
