I have no idea. I can't understand the cult of Manson idea that some people like to subscribe. I just see one crazy person manipulating a bunch of similar most sugestable types.

I think it was because the guy was just flat-out hilarious and made a great pet, as evident here and here.

Go live in the desert and live on nothing but LSD and tell what kind of ideas you start coming up with.
Manson and the Manson Family are an infinitely fasinating group of people.

Oh yes, in my studies I've done on Serial Killers and Maniacs in General, I've read up on these people. I was first intrigued by the Manson Family those many years ago when I saw the movie Helter Skelter. Of course the movie didn't do the story justice (but Steve Railsback made an excellent Manson), but I think that's where my interest started.

So seeing as how I'm the only person I know of that actually bought and enjoyed the Guns N' Roses album The Spaghetti Incident?, am I also the only one that enjoyed the unlisted, uncredited, Manson-penned hidden track on that same album?
I've heard Manson's version, too, and I think Axl did it more justice than ol' Chuckie did, but I still think it's a very well-written song.

He also wrote a great song called Garbage Dump. GG Allin covered it.

The Movie Helter Skelter was pretty damned hillarious.
I was looking at an article on him today, he had some legitimately hot chicks in his camp. Also I wonder what happened to his son
