Anyone else really enjoying this game? After reading the mostly negative reviews about the game, I was a little cautious about buying it but im REALLY enjoying it!!! The graphics are pretty decent overall, and the gameplay is solid except sometimes the shooting can be off!!
But the game has a badass story and pretty decent characters...kind of seems more like a playable movie then a video game!!
Anyways, im at the part where you have to save Jenny while that big ass truck keeps trying to run her over.. and I cant seem to find a damn way to kill the driver!!!
Overall though, this game seems like a cross between Hitman/ two worlds/and maybe just a lil bit of Gears of War
If your a fan of action games, with lots of swearing and lots of bullet action I definitly reccommend this game!
Easily an 8/10 for me..LOADS better than the reviews say

Sounds pretty fun. I may have to check it out.
The critics didn't like that Stranglehold game either, but I found it to be enjoyable.

It blows. It's like playing some old, broken PS2 game. Kind of entertaining for an hour or so, but the laughably bad script, the broken game mechanics and repetive nature of it just ruins it completely.
And to the thread starter, just shoot the f*** out of the window of the truck, and eventually, it will break. It makes no sense, but it's the way to do it, as any other logical solution you may have won't work. I just hope you're playing this with a friend, because relying on the piss poor AI males the game even worse.
At least Stranglehold was fun. Kane & Lynch is just shit. Nothing WORKS. Like the cover system, which you are in fact supposed to use, seems totally random, and is in the end so unreliable you end up not even trying to use it. AI sucks. Graphics are second rate. Gameplay is boring and repetive. Story blows. And it tries to be so grown up, but all it has is alot of swearing, to the point where it just seems silly. To top all this off, there's the fact that YOU CAN'T CHOOSE WETHER YOU WANT VERTICAL OR HORIZONTAL SPLIT IN CO-OP, making it hell to play on smaller TV's. Also, the story mode is short as hell, there's no replay value and the multiplayer mode (the online one) is a good idea wrapped in a big load of bad game design.
Buy something else, this isn't worth your money.

Yeah I cannot stand it, I expect way better from IO interactive. Then again their gunplay has always been broke,
The graphics are awful, the controls are terrible.
The only saving grace is a great story and unique online multiplayer.

wow... the game is not terrible? And how can you saw the graphics are terrible?? The graphics may not be as good as some 360 games, but the graphics I think are very well. The scenes where their is hundreds of people on the screen just blow me away!!!
I think the script is very good actually, good cut scenes....... So overall...NO this game does NOT blow

The game blows. For once, I agree with Gamespot's opinion on a game. Ironically, it was Gamespot giving the game a slow score and panning it that got the reviewer of the game fired(and cause Eidos to pull several millions of dollars in future advertising on the site).

Why even bother to ask for other people's opinions when you won't accept them?
I think I gave a pretty good reasoning for why it's a bad game, and I've played through the entire thing, so I can back it up.
Fact is. And this is fact... it's just not a very good game. It could have been, but it's not. I can't argue wether you like it or not, but to say this is anything but a average (at best) game is just... wrong.
Enjoy the hell out if for all I care. Good for you. I felt ripped off.

As I said, I give it the story and script and voice acting, good characters too. But playing it is a damned chore. Stranglehold does all the game play elements better and it is a slightly above average game.
In a true grading scale, not the industry standard one that is broke as hell, the game would get a 4 for below average, Stranglehold would pull a 6. Call of Duty 4 like an 8.5. But the system is broken, and I trust no reviews at all, the whole industry is damned shady. The only reviewers I trust at all are Not a True Ending. And I don't always agree with them, but at least I always understand why they give the scores they do. And from Them a 5 is an average game, not a 7.

According to Gamespot, it wasn't the review or the score. It was that the tone of the review didn't match the score, and that he did so for many other reviews. I can't speak for the other alleged instances, but I agree with Gamespot on this one. The actual score was a 6, but the review read like it was getting a 3.5 tops.

That is nothing new with any review site. People will blast a game but still hand it a decent score. Load of bollocks. And not even bollocks of the canine variety either.

I used to love Next gen and PSm's reviews, but PSM is the official Sony mag now, and NExt Gen died ages ago.

The question was "did anyone else enjoy this game", not "please bitch and talk down about something I enjoy" So, this is basically a "let's jerk off for how good Kane & Lynch is" thread then? Sorry. I did not know that. My apologies. The next time I'll be sure to only post about stuff I like that other people like... hell, I don't want to upset anyone. Give me a break. You start a thread on a game, and you get different opinions. Except here a good 90% or so can agree that it sucks, while the thread starter seems upset anyone can think such things. And just as a side note, I've played the hell out of Surf's Up, which isn't exactly a good game either. It's way too easy, has no depth and a bunch of horrible flaws, but I think it's fun. Really, I'm sure some people can enjoy Kane & Lynch, but I didn't... at all. Like Assasin's Creed. While it failed to deliver what it was supposed to, was repetive as hell and had AI dumb as smurf, along with one of the biggest cop out endings ever.... I liked it. By all means, it's not a very good game, but I still enjoyed it when I played through it. I'm going on, but point is maybe you should move to China or something.
