Some people just stop watching it for different reasons.
Some have said they have gotten tired of wrestling in all.
Some have said because they are spending more time with family, work
Some have said because their favorite stars have retired or died.
Some have said because it was because they are getting older and it kinda hard to watch people younger than them move in the ring.
Some view wrestling more of an hobby to watch and collect stuff but they want an new hobby.

When it stops being entertaining. I won't watch just because I always have or because "it's free on TV".

I'm trying to stop, and have weaned myself quite a bit, there's just better things to do with my time. It just isn't fun anymore, and I'll stop watching any wrestling effective immediately.

I'll probably stop when there is no longer a way for me to view it.

I'll stop when it bores me and has no signs of improving.

Some have said because it was because they are getting older and it kinda hard to watch people younger than them move in the ring. Some view wrestling more of an hobby to watch and collect stuff but they want an new hobby. Let's take a trip down memory lane. In the fall of 2001, Dave Meltzer simply asked why so much of the hardcore audience of at least 30 years of age had stopped watching wrestling. Here are some of the reasons he received: - botched invasion angle - Shane & Stephanie - No Flair, Goldberg, Sting, Hall, Nash, Hogan - disenfranchised WCW fans - 20 minute interviews - legs cut from under midcarders - no suspension of disbelief - can't get emotionally involved in characters - lack of competition - Vince Russo - lack of emphasis on titles - too much T&A - HHH/Kurt Angle/Stephanie storyline ending - bad WWF television writing - WCW misusing Ric Flair - stale WWF product - no character consistency - life got busier - too much bad comedy - rehashed storylines - too many run-ins - lack of surprises - not enough wrestling - WCW & ECW getting buried in losses - ruining Steve Austin

I'll always be involved someway. I may not watch it, but pro-wrestling is an addiction. I'll always be interested in knowing what is going to happen, I'll always be curious to see new stars. I'll keep reading the results and check websites. Just to know what will happen or could happen.
Right now for example is a very interesting time. The quality of entertainment and wrestling may not be at it's highest. But things are going to change and will have to change. Cena has to prove himself to be allowed once again to carry the WWE. Batista will have to pass the torch. CM Punk has to prove himself to a WWE-audience and try to live up to expectations. Kennedy needs to keep on a roll. Burchill needs a chance and is 100% raw potential. Harry Smith, TJ Wilson and Nattie Neidhart could carry on the legacy of the Hart-family. HBK and HHH can't go on forever and need to pass the torch too, with Johnny Nitro looking to be the next HBK.
This is a time where we are at crossroads. WWE, TNA, ROH, NOAH, NJPW and small indies.
There are enough reasos to keep on watching, even though the product (mostly WWE) could be so much better.

When I stop marking at live shows and when wrestling comes off more as a chore than as anything else.
Wrestling is a link to my child hood and it's well a part of my personality.
IF I ever get the money i'm going to train, but eh i still got medical school...so yeah.

I don't think I'll ever stop. I miss a lot now...but I usually try to catch ECW or the TNA replay. As far as old footage goes I'll NEVER stop watching. WWE has a real cash cow on their hands with their video library and they need to exploit it to it's fullest, because suckers like me will buy all of it.

I did it 6 years ago, I can do it again.
Although with the rate of classic DVDs coming out these days, I doubt I'll ever give up tracking down old stuff.

I haven't stopped watching wrestling, nor do I plan to - I've merely stopped watching WWE, which happened shortly after the InVasion angle. For Vince to have botched something so idiot proof - all the while flattering his own ego (at the expense of every non-WWE fanboy) - made me lose all confidence in him and his product.
Vince had no one to steal ideas from. With a virtual monopoly over wrestling in America, there was - and still is - no incentive for WWE to innovate and improve. The only wrestlers that WWE had that were worth a damn were Shawn Michaels, Shelton Benjamin, Kurt Angle, and Chris Benoit. True, you had a lot of ex WCW and ECW talent like RVD, Tajiri, and DDP, but we all know how most of them turned out, thanks to brilliant booking.
So rather than watch crappy wrestling, I seek out the good stuff: TNA and CZW. I'd like to get into ROH sometime, based on what I've heard about it.

I think I might watch LESS as time goes on, but I'll never, ever get tired of the matches that remind me why I watch it in the first place. All it takes is one special match, and my faith is restored.

When companies like ROH aren't around. When WWE loses it's technical talent.

The sad thing is that I've been watching for 20 years non-stop and now I find myself turning it off.
I watched WCW 'til its dying day and yet I can barely stomach Raw. I haven't stopped watching wrestling al together. TNA is still weekly viewing for me and I catch Smackdown when I can. As for WWECW, I haven't watched a full episode in a long long time. I gave up after a month. Raw, I used to tape while watching 24, but now I don't even bother.
Way to turn off a lifelong fan Vince and Gerwitz.
