I remember about 10 years ago there was a really small time promotion run by black people on tv.
The weird things were that they had hip hop music playing during EVERY match and the champion of the company held the tag team championship of the promoter.
Anybody remember this or remember the name of the company?

I think you are talking about Urban Wrestling Alliance. I remember digging what little I had seen from them. But, they taped it like a TV show, so I eventually saw "repeats."
Can't remember anything beyond the name, though.

OK. I remember the UWA.. Urban Wrestling Alliance. Orlando Jordan was one half of the UWA tag team champions. The fed also featured Jorge Estrada, Solo Snuka as just Solo and Sonny Siaki as Money.

Rodney King used to run all black wrestling shows out of an old rodeo place, according to New Jack.

Anyone remember why there was just ONE belt for the tag team champs? (It had something to do with the promoter having that tag belt in the past)

they actually aired this where I live (DC area) for about 6 months, but it was REALLY late-night (2 a.m. or so). Not a mainstream success by any definition.

I vaguely remember this, I remember Sonny Siaki, I think was doing a ripoff of the Rock. The rest was so terrible that I must have banished it from memory.

If they ever wanted to make serious money.....have a KKK guy as the heel. They would swim in money.

Here is every single random memory I have of the UWA
-A white tag team w/ a football gimmick. I recal one of the wrestlers being Bison Smith. -A Mexican tag team. They looked like the mario bros. except they were painters instead of plumbers. -A gangster tag team called the Urban Assualt Squad and one of the guys was called Sideswipe. -white wrestler who wrestled in his boxers: Steve Madison who went by the name 'Smoke.' -A big burly black dude named Surge. -a storyline where a heel put some kind of drug in faces water -a storyline where a heel was mean to his girl so a face wrestler came down to her rescue. -the federation had a GM who always got into everyones business granting title shots to faces and title defences to heels.
