I thought it was funny to match that song with that video.
Don't know if funny was the intention though.

I think the best was that the guy just took all the finishers at wrestling encyclopedia and put them to music.

Is that a gay J-animation theme (which would be most J-Animaiton themes, actually) they used? If so, nothing says "middle school internet wrestling geek," more than this video.

I guess that would make me a "middle school internet wrestling geek" as well, seeing as I used songs from the "gay J-animation" .hack//SIGN for the first two of my puroresu videos (and those worked very nicely, judging from the feedback). Oh well. As for this here vid, the song doesn't really go with the clips at all and the transition effects could have used a bit more variety. Now there's only the "fade to black" transition, which really gets old if every clip ends with that.

When I make wrestling videos, I choose songs that go best with the clips. I really don't care if a song is from an anime series, a film, a video game or a porno movie or where the hell ever, if it sounds good I use it (and of course, I have only ever used Japanese songs for puroresu videos).
Yeah, that probably makes me a sad little wrestling geek. Whatever. At least the guy who made this "Run With Us" vid isn't one of those, because the song is from a Canadian animation series instead of a Japanese one.

Not all music from animes are gay, but when they are, they are like, super gay.
I personally enjoy any crap Susumu Hirasawa pull just for the cheer "WTFness" that their sound.
Well, if that out of the way, that´s a pretty gay song for a wrestling video...I mean, if we are going to see a bunch of sweat mean wrestling each other put at least something that isn´t emo, or trying very hard not to be, like 90% of the other wrestling videos were they put Linkin Park for no reason.

I HATE that! What is it with them and plugging Linkin Park onto everything? When I'm watching wrestling videos the last thing I want to hear is how you hate your father! Once I ran into a wrestling video from some cheap backyward fed with Meat Loaf music on it, BEAT THAT! Objects in the Rear View Mirror (May Appear Closer Than They Are) no less! And as for anime music I agree with that statement. But for how dumb I found .hack to be (Uh? Wha...? Uh...) the music was fantastic. Same with Cowboy Bebop (without the dumb part). But then you run into some of the stuff that's just horrible because it would appear the japanese are always a decade off in music. Hell, just listen to Ikari No Jushin Lyger. That thing is hilarious because it's so overblown and horrible. The guitar solos are just ridiculous. Not to say I don't love it for that.

The guitar solos are just ridiculous. Not to say I don't love it for that. R. E. the "decade off" - falser words were never typed. Don't mistake your (seemingly minimal, given the satement you made) exposure to Japanese music (popular and otherwise) with reality. Japan tends to be ahead of the curve, musically, these days. In the U. S., where it's lame ass "Idol" singers being manufactured on television (Japan did that a decade ago, thanks!), and when what classifies as "emo" is basically suburban white kids dressing got hand whining a lot (when I was in my twenties, "emo" had just become a term and it referred to actually good, artistically different bands like THE DESCENDANTS and DAG NASTY and HUSKER DU. Ahaa. The eighties...) when they're simply commercial power pop (a staple of Japanese music since the seventies), and really desperate r & b that lacks the r and the b - Beyonce, etc. - Man, James Brown dyin' was a sad, sad, sad, sad and prophetic bit of R & B history. I miss you, Godfather! - while Japanese R & B producers are now getting calls from record lables in the U. S. because the genre's starting to slump.... I think the worm has turned and maybe your assessment of Japanese music trends is a decade (or two) behind the times. As for Liger's theme, well it IS nearly 15 years old (at least). How about that gay Hogan "Real American" theme? Man, those 1984 car commercial vocals, insipid, grotesquely jingoistic 1982 lyrics, passe 1981 guitar riffs... A catchy theme at a star's peak follows them for life. Now, how's this for weirdness: Mitsuhiro Misawa's theme was/is actually a corporate library song that broadcasters in Asia can purchase for use. When I worked for TVB Pearl (the English language channel), in Hong Kong they had it on a CD of music they licensed for use back in the late eighties. I also noticed it popped up in the English-dubbed version of the Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung film WHEELS ON MEALS (or was it the original, English-dubbed version of THE ARMOR OF GOD before Miramax picked it up and dubbed it a second time???). Booker T's old theme (used well into 2006) was an American song available for free (after your company pays the licensing fees) to use in commercials, movies, videos and corporate/industrial films. Regardless, Liger & Misawa and even that craptacular old WCW Booker T theme > anime music.

Two things, first of all you don't know me, don't assume things you don't know. Second of all when you are making an argument make it coherent, I can hardly understand it but I think I got it. You are telling me that Japanese music tends to be ahead of the curve musically and we take ideas from them is that it? You seem to misunderstand my argument if I understand yours. Let me get into it.
First you make the assertion that I haven't heard much Japanese bands. While I am not imersed in the culture (nor do I have a desire to be) I have listened to a fair deal of popular music. Japanese Pop regularly gets caught into Anime (great marketing tool) and assorted Games (such as Kingdom Hearts' Utada Hikaru openings), I've also been force fed other Japanese bands such as X Japan (which were 70's Progressive Rock taken to new heights). So while my knowelge is by no means expansive, I believe I have a fair amount to make a comment especially based on other knowelgable people I've spoken with about this (Foreign exchange students ect.)
Now as to your assertion you provide three points to back it up. First you say Japan was the first to manufacture Idols, then you say Japan was the first to do modern emo, then you say ... something about R&B but you go off topic there and it's hard for me to understand. The creation of Idols is not a genre of music, but rather a marketing technique. America steals marketing techniques from Japan all the time they are pretty good at it. The type of music was done before that in America, just listen to Pandora's Box.
Next you say that modern emo is Japanese power pop. I would like you to give me some examples of the power pop as I may have heard of it and don't know what you are talking about. To my knowlege Pop Punk started in America first with such bands as Green Day and Blink 182, modern Emo is just a change in subject matter if I'm getting you right.
And I'll accept that 1970's Japan didn't put it all out into their anime music like they do today. However 1970's Japan was also purposely copying American acts. The rest... is quite irrelevant. If you are going to argue about something off topic on the internet at least make it count and provide something coherent. I know no one wins on the internet but would it be hard to try to organize your thoughts?

First of all, don't make stupid statements that clearly indicate how little you're in touch with something and then pass them off as a truisms. Secondly, you don't know ME. Don't assume anything. Don't even try lecturing me about this subject. Yes, talking about bands that are old with young foreign exchange students. Based on your observations through ANIME, and from afar. I lived in Japan for a number of years and end up there on business twice a year. I see, hear and observe things first-hand, for the most part. However, that isn't so important when you can simply do a little internet research. Thank you for proving my point, though. The rest of your post was snipped because you were not making a clear argument, nor much sense, and it was all irrelevant because you proved my point. already. Have a nice day!
