Vince booking ECW tonight to combat WSX

Believe it or not, there is huge talk in Houston today regarding the debut of Wrestling Society X at 10:30pm ET tonight, which will go head-to-head with the last 30 minutes of ECW. Based on reports, tonight's show (which features an appearance by Vince McMahon and Bobby Lashley vs. Test for the ECW Title) is being written with the goal of shutting down the WSX debut in a big way.

The "sneak preview" of Wrestling Society X on MTV this past Friday (January 26) drew a 0.43 cable rating with a 0.9 share. That is more than four times the usual 0.10 rating for that timeslot on Friday nights. It should also be noted that the average rating for MTV that day was 0.40, so it even beat out earlier primetime numbers as well.



Does this mean Lashley is tossing Test into explosives? But hey, if someone gets tossed into a tank of Piranhas on ECW tonight, i'll mark.

Unless Heyman is going to further some storylines and make a huge Impact (apart from joining the KMA club), I don't see anything worth giving a damn about (apart from CM Punk/Monty Brown, at least for me).

Vince does both smart and stupid things under pressure. Let's hope it's the former and not the latter this time. I do think he's much more creative when he has to overcome obstacles and face opponents, though.

Maybe it's me, but WWE claiming their "ace-in-the-hole" to destroy WSX is having Vince hog air-time on an hour-long show and have Test & Lashley complete their Trilogy-O-Putridity for a meaningless title makes me laugh.
