That way it can set up a lame-ass title chase with Cena winning the belt back at Mania. Smell the buy rate! If only WWE had a wrestler of middle eastern decent who could spout anti-american rhetoric who could defend the title against hulk hog..I mean John "the marine" Cena... |

And thank God for that. Umaga bores the hell out of me. Despite the fact that he acted like a headshrinker, I think the only reason they even created the Umaga character was to take a pot shot at Samoa Joe cause he turned them down. Besides, as stupid as the spinner belt is (and make no mistake, I enjoy Cena as champion but I HATE that spinner belt immensely), at least it's not being worn in cena's MOUTH. How the hell are we supposed to take a 'savage' who wears metal mouth fashion seriously as a savage? And am I the only one who's already sick of AAE? |

I've heard the Samoa Joe/Umaga comparison stuff before, but outside of the whole 'being Samoan' thing.. is there ANY similarity between the two? The undefeated for x amount of time thing--- so was CM Punk and I don't see any comparisons there. Hell Punk and Joe have more in common.

But the whole Samoan thing kinda was what made it obvious Joe was the Undefeated Samoan Submission Machine, while Umaga became the undefeated Samoan Bulldozer. Both went for an ungodly amount of time without a loss, and both lost to the only people on the roster they hadn't beaten. Both have had rematches with the person who beat them (though granted Cena's is due up next this sunday, and Joe already had his) About the only difference, besides the fact that Joe is allowed to act and be intelligence and Umaga is basically a less interesting Kamala, is the fact that Umaga was the first one to get a shot at the world championship of the two in their current promotions (I'm not counting Joe's ROH belt since that was well before Umaga). Well, that and the fact that Umaga is stuck with a manager equally as boring now as he is, wheras Joe didn't need a mouthpiece. |
