It'd work... MVP lucks out and "inadvertently" wins the Rumble, and then goes on to win the Title at Mania as the new obnoxious, loud and lucky champion. But HBK or Taker will win the Rumble, pretty much overshadowing everyone else WWE: We put over our young up and comers So it's wrong to give a title reign to a person who may be retiring from in-ring-action soon, who's stuck with the company through all the bad times and the monday night war. That's what you're saying isn't it?

It could be the most inspirational story in Rumble History. A man comes back from debilitating burn injuries to go on to main event WrestleMania. Of course it will never happen. As long as you realize that, you're okay. And that's okay.

That's what you're saying isn't it? Yes. World title reigns aren't gifts or year-end bonuses. The world title isn't a golden watch you give to your eldest employee at a lavish do. Here's what 'Taker can have for his retirement: A golden handshake and a backstage pass. A world title is a professional wrestling prop and the goal of the world title is to make money by promoting featured stars as headliners. If 'Taker, or any of his fans, want him to have another world title just because, OMGZ, he might retire soon maybe or not, then you can buy a decent replica for a few hundred bucks.

Ah, so it's fine if they give Charles Wright a.k.a. the Godfather an IC title run for putting up with the crap they gave him in Papa Shango, but it's wrong for them to give somebody who's a draw and over with the crowd their top title for a bit because they're older than everyone and thus by that logic would be holding everyone down forever.

I think giving the Godfather an IC title reign was a pile of nonsense that shouldn't have happened. Don't assume, for some reason (I'm not aware that I've every given my thumbs up to, or even MENTIONED Charles Wright until now) that I was in favour for that when it happened.

You said "world title reigns aren't bonus' etc." so I was gauging your reaction on non-world-title reigns

I think it's easy to guess that if the world title is a prop for use in professional wrestling as a means of generating revenue, then, yes, other titles would follow in that regard. Comedy reigns, token good bye reigns, 'wow we haven't released you yet, have a title' reigns, they're all rubbish.
