7. What does it tell you when it bums me out that Bob Holly gets pulled out of the TV main event? That you need to quit being such a f***ing smark and just accept that Holly is a perfectly competant wrestler, and watching Holly and Lashley play chess would've been a smarter booking decision than to give away Sunday's title match FOR FREE, and with a clean ending. This is what helped kill WCW, kids. While I agree with the general idea of what you said, I do have to point out one fact: Holly has been with the company for the better part of 15 years now and has had plenty of opportunities to get over, and has failed. Every. Single. Time. Actually, ever since he became Hardcore Holly the guy has been consistantly over with the fans. They cheered as hardcore champ, as tag champ and even as world title contender against Brock he got a damn good pop. It's pretty obvious you like Punk, which is fine, but having him win every match is hardly the way to build a fued and simply ignoring or 'selectivly remembering' Holly's career for the last seven years is not really the way forward either.....

I'm not sure why any of the original ECW folks should convincingly beat Kevin Thorne, outside of Tommy Dreamer, Balls Mahoney and maybe RVD.
I'll wager that he complained when Thorne beat Nunzio/Little Guido.

Thanks for that Godz, I think that guys rhetorical questions column should always have commentary, that column serves no positive purpose(like most wrestling columnists).

They cheered as hardcore champ, as tag champ and even as world title contender against Brock he got a damn good pop. You're confusing Bob with Crash. Crash was continually over as Hardcore champion, especially during the 24/7 angle. What little reaction Hardcore got was because he was tagging with Crash. As for his world title match at RR vs Lesnar, there was no Holly "pop". The general reaction was "THAT'S our main event? That doesn't even belong on RAW!!!!" Actually, I've seen Punk wrestle twice -- once on SS, the other at D2D. I largely stopped watching that abomination that is WWECW long before punk arrived, and I don't watch indys outside of the occasional episode of Impact. Whether or not I like punk is irrelevant, though. I don't have to know a damn thing about the guy outside of the fact that (a) he's a decent worker, and (b) the crowd is solidly behind him. I don't care who the worker is, even if I've never seen or heard of him before. It's only common sense that you don't job out a potential moneymaker who is over with the fans to a low/midcarder who hasn't gotten over in 15 years. Even if you believe that Hardcore is (or was) over --- have you ever seen ONE fan with ONE piece of Hardcore Holly merchandise? Have you ever heard ONE fan say "I paid for this ticket/PPV because of the Hardcore Holly match."? Have you ever heard anyone say "That Hardcore Holly vs. <<someone>> match should be really good!" or "Wow, that Hardcore Holly vs <<someone>> match was amazing?" Probably not. He may be a decent worker in your opinion, but he does not sell merchandise, and he does not put asses in seats or generate PPV buys. CM Punk will sell merchandise. People pay to see his matches. People watch ECW because of CM Punk, not Hardcore Holly. Even if I knew absolutely NOTHING ELSE about the guy, I'd still be smart enough to know that you don't job CM punk out to Hardcore Holly to "prove a point" or whatever their reason was.

I think judging Holly on what we perceive his reaction from the crowd to be is a little unfair because from a fans perspective like ours I think that's gonna be largely affected by whether you like him or not. To really fairly judge the reactions sometimes you gotta be there live. I love Hardcore Holly, so what reactions he gets from fans either way isn't so relevant to me. I'm fairly sure Hardcore Holly got reactions on his own, he hasn't been with Crash forever, even as a kid I loved Hardcore Holly, I always looked forward to him bashing a guys brains in with dual trash can lids

This is a strong word but I truly hate Scherer. Hes never right about anything, then blames the E for his wrong predictions and never takes the blame himself. Then, he trashes everything just to do it(maybe because its the in thing to do?) even when it doesnt deserve it. This guy is pathetic, why does he even watch the E in the first place if he has nothing good ever to say about it?
