"Steve Corino can no longer be called "The King of Old School" because the WWE sent him a letter saying they now have it trademarked." --credit Wrestlezone, not sure where they got it from
So if Test is now the Impact Player, does that mean that Mike Knox will be the King of Old School?
Poor Steve Corino. That Steve Corino had a family, kang! Seriously - this is becoming more ridiculous than Pat Riley trademarking the word "Three-peat."
So what other ECW original gimmicks will WWE now claim to have trademarked so they can repackage their guys as "edgy"?
Will Batista's finisher be renamed the Awesome Bomb? Will CM Punk be made to say, "That match with Bob Holly wasn't just great. It won't be remembered as just awesome. It is Justin Credible."

"The Baron of Earlier Eras in Professional Wrestling and Sports-Entertainment" Steve Corino. Has a nice ring to it.

Is this really just breaking? I remember hearing about this a few months ago from Corino's myspace. Anyway, sucks for Corino but, that is business.

I hadn't heard it, and it was on top of the WZ links. Just thought it was worth mentioning. Let's hear it for the new ECW champion, Awesome Mike Knox!

Why doesn't Corino just trademark 'Kiss My Ass' and charge Vince

My condolences to the 2 dozen people who know who this guy is. He was ECW World Champion when the company was on TNN. I'm afraid I can't let you pass this history class. So, let's see: Triple H steals "King of Kings" from Corino, now they take "King of Old School". How much longer until they won't let him use "The Extreme Horseman", or, more importantly, "The @#$%ing GOD(!) of Pro Wrestling"?

Meh, I'm pretty sure he can still use it in Japan. He'll be fine.

Why do they even want the trademark? It's not like Corino chooses to work for someone that they even care about.
Now that I think about it, why isn't he in TNA? They have a schedule that Corino would like (isn't he semi-retired?) He's a decent talker that I imagine that the crowd in the Impact Zone would love.

Corino, if I remember correctly, is a full time booker for 01-MAX in Japan (the new version of ZERO-ONE), and he has his own schedule that pays him very well. He's apparently very content with his current situation.

Why do they even want the trademark? It's not like Corino chooses to work for someone that they even care about. Because it was used in ECW and WWE owns that. If Corino owned it and WWE wanted to use any match he was in (or show he was on) and that nickname was said, they have to pay him for it. It business pure and simple. And he has been in TNA very briefly.

Why didn't he trademark it again? Probably something to do with Paul Heyman like with the Dudleys and Raven.
