Huge tag match announced By Brett Hoffman Written: January 19, 2007
WWE.com has learned that another huge match has been signed for next Sunday’s Royal Rumble spectacular.
The bitter and increasingly personal rivalry between MNM and The Hardys will continue at the annual pay-per-view event. Joey Mercury, who was brutally injured in the Armageddon Tag Team Ladder Match has continually blamed The Hardys, specifically Matt, for ruining his “Hollywood good looks.” At Royal Rumble, the accomplished duos will reunite again in an attempt to gain the upper hand, and ultimate triumph in the battle of two of sports-entertainment’s greatest tag teams of all time.

Sweet. I want WGTT and Londrick to get involved somehow....a TLC match at Mania with those 4 teams would be the greatest thing in the history of mankind.

This could a good match depending on how long Mercury can go and what he can do (I missed Smackdown last night).

So much for the "one-time only" tag team match at December 2 Dismember, but at least it's a good match to add to the PPV.

Lets say WGTT wins the Raw tagtitles by then. Then it would be a great interpromotional match, with the Raw champs, Smackdown champs, and two interpromotional teams.

London eliminates Haas, Kendrick eliminates Benjamin, each claims to be the dominanat team, MNM and the Hardys both have something to say about it ... BAM! Four-way match. They'll never hire me, but they know they should.

Good stuff. Their match at D2D was the only good thing on that show. And it was damn good at that.

In a rush, are they? This could have easily been milked out until No Way Out, especially since at least 3 of the 4 had already been booked into the Rumble itself. It's not like they aren't willing to keep repeating something every week if it is good (Matt vs Helms for 2 months solid, Benoit vs Chavo, Jeff vs Nitro, etc.), or even if it isn't good (you don't want me give any of these examples, do you? Why relive them?)

If that is the case then they need to get the ball rolling on the Hardys/RatedRKO and MNM/Londrick feuds so that they can be solidly booked for No Way Out. I hope that in the rush to set up one big match they don't waste the opportunity to have interesting feuds to set up said big match.

I hope that in the rush to set up one big match they don't waste the opportunity to have interesting feuds to set up said big match. Yeah you wish they'd get the ball rolling, unfortunately they sorta have a knack for keeping feuds going too long. In theory, if Matt and Jeff win at the rumble, or even if MNM win at the rumble, that should END the feud between them and start the feuds with the other teams. However, given that sometimes they don't do this (see the Helms/Hardy feud continuing even after Matt won @ No Mercy, which while I liked the feud it definetely should've ended with that match). That may not happen. Still, it would be awesome to see one or both of these teams go for gold at WM EDIT: Also, I still find it funny that Mecury blames Matt. "Yes Matt I blame you for my face being wrecked even though Jeff was the one who hit the ladder into my face. Unfortunately I'm too lazy to go to Raw and exact revenge that way."

It's too soon for this feud to end, considering the recent Mercury/Matt stuff. I actually understand the "hate Matt more than Jeff" thing, provided that Mercury claims that he saw the blow coming and tried to get away or minimize it in some way, but Matt held him in place.

I'm giddy about this. I love how this fued is continuing between all three brands, singles fueds on raw and smackdown and tag team classics on ppv. I'm predicting MnM prevails here to continue the fued until Wrestlemania.

This will probably be the opener to get the fans hot, but due to Mercury's condition and the fact that they need time for the technical masterpieces that will be the three World Title matches, it won't last long.
