Goldberg didn't lose cleanly to Booker T iirc Jarrett made a run in with his guitar. Goldberg iirc, has never lost cleanly.

The only Goldberg loses I recall were to Nash at Starrcade, twice to Hart in late 99, once to Steiner, and once where he didn't get pinned but his team lost a retirement tag match to Bagwell and Lugar.
I don't know that he lost cleanly in any of them.

Did Goldberg EVER lose cleanly, and better yet did Warrior?

The indestructible Marine deal Cena's got going on is insulting. Why do people continue to cheer for this? I just don't understand it at all. Cena reminds me of WCW Goldberg (minus the undefeated streak) the only difference is Goldberg was believable as a monster face contender/champion while Cena is not. That and even Goldberg did lose every once in a while. Goldberg's WCW tenure included six actual losses. Three of them were against Bret Hart

I still say Superman has jobbed more than Cena. At least Superman has a weakness. I've yet to figure out what Cena's Kryptonite is.

I wonder how the real USMC feel about this, considering (from what I believe) he's never done any Military Service! Yeah, he played a Marine in a movie... But do you think that fella in 'The Passion of the Christ' struts around like he's J.C. or what?

I still say Superman has jobbed more than Cena. At least Superman jobbed to Doomsday. If Cena face Doomsday he'd take a beating for ten minutes and when Doomsday was about to strike the killing blow, Cena would do the "you can see me" move and then put Doomsday in the STFU

Superman has also jobbed to Batman. Twice.

Austin lost every now and then. I think Austin lost or was DQ'ed a lot more than he won.

Guess the writers weren't watching the Double E back then...or a few years ago...or WCW... How do you get a job at this place? Rock paper scissors? Now wait a sec. Cena got pinned by KFed, lost the Handicap match, and then got laid out by Khali. Thats just in the past two weeks or so.

He lost that 4 on 1 by DQ, and then proceeded to wipe out all 4 guys, including Johnny Nitro and his challenger for 6 days later, and then finished of K-Fed for good measure. I can't exactly say this was WWE making Cena look vulnerable.

Well what do you want? Him to get beat or him to get beat down? Both. Even a superman face needs to do the 'face in peril' thing every now and then, to build and interest and give his opponent some actual heat going in to a match. Also Cena didn't lose clean to K-Fed, but thank God for that. The last time Cena lost clean was in 1 match against Umaga in August last year. Before that, it was at NYR06 against Edge, but even then it was after 2 spears and the whole Elimination Chamber, so hardly made Edge come out better. Before that, God knows when. I think it'd be pre-WM21.

I think it'd be pre-WM21. He didn't even lose clean in the Umaga match because Edge ran in and speared him. Someone asked about this before and I looked it up. Last time he last clean was following Wrestlemania in a 2 on 1 handicap match against Edge and HHH. He fell clean to the Pedigree. Before that it was in 2004.

He got squashed by Khali. Clean wins are rare these days anyway.

the only way to defeat John Cena is to trick him into saying his name backwards.

It's not a matter of losing matches... It'd make little sense to have your Champion, the supposed Best Guy on the roster, losing too much. Even if it's a dirty loss, or a DQ and it's on free TV. It's a matter of LOOKING VULNERABLE and then creating suspense about the outcome of the matches or about the future of the Champion.
Hogan lost only once cleanly, against Warrior. Every other loss was dirty (against Andre and Yokozuna), or a count-out, DQ, double DQ. So from 84 to 93 Hulk lost only THREE big matches, and only one cleanly.
But despite the actual dominance, Hulk was booked as vulnerable, even though WWF needed to push huge guys who looked strong enough to overpower Hogan. And every time there was the showdown, Hogan looked in danger. And the win was sold as a "miracle" of intestinal fortitude ( (c) J.R.).
Cena has lost his fair share of matches, but rarely on PPV, and even when he loses, he manages to bounce back in a way or another in no time... And he hasn't been outpowered/outsmarted in ages. No wonder the crowd was turning on him...
So, Cena will probably win against Umaga. But any other result won't affect Cena's position of dominance.
