Yeah, I've noticed that a heel holding the tights seems to be up there with Hogan's Leg Drop as moves that are impossible to kick out of.

Technically, he was put through Striker's chalkboard. HHH and HBK lost to Umaga clean, though.

Yeah but.. isn't that the point of wrestling? When's the last time Kane got beat clean (as a face)? or Batista? or pretty much any upper card face wrestler? Ever? Kane hasn't been a face too long but he's lost to almost everyone on the roster at one time or another. Batista was beat by Kennedy back to back this year. One was a count out (the oher might have been shenanigans).

Cena 's problem for me isnt so much he doesnt lose cleanly. My problem is he never looks like losing at all. When was the last time you watched a Cena match and thought " He might not make it". Even Hogan looked slightly beatable at times.

Yeah, but with Cena he even makes the dramatic comeback from super impossible odds. Its really kind of corny.
When Hogan was doing it, he wasn't getting put through tables or overcoming a punctured spleen. Hogan would always take super beat downs from heels, and looked very vulnerable. Cena, for the most part, just pops back up the following week. He also wasn't on TV every week on monday nights, so we could buy into the fact that he was hurt. Stone Cold was never a face in peril come from behind sort of guy.....he was usually really aggressive and just went toe to toe with the heel all the way through the match.

eh Hogan wasn't pin cleanly for a decade or so Big deal, so Cena doesn't lose cleanly all the time or at all really. guess what, he's FREAKING WORLD CHAMPION! it'd completley devalue the title (even more) by having him lose cleanly even every month. You're about a year too late on the Cena hate

When's the last time Benoit lost CLEANLY? Cena jobs more than most wrestlers when they were at the top, and even some wrestlers who ain't (Benoit).
True story.

i'd have to also say it was after wm last year. before that he might have lost to angle clean in that 1st blood match.

You're about a year too late on the Cena hate Hogan was back in the 80s, fer cryin' out loud. It was a different era back then. And, it was before Monday Night Raw. Also, losing non-title matches doesn't make the champion look weaker, it makes the challenger look stronger! It makes it, at least, seem like the title might change hands. But, if the champion can beat you in 8 handicap matches on Raw, then what's the point of seeing you fight him one-on-one at a PPV?

Technically he lost clean to RVD at ONS as it was extreme rules.

Technically he lost clean to RVD at ONS as it was extreme rules. Sadly, there was a referee switch. :/ But I see your point. Extreme rules means anything is clean. xD

the last time Cena lost cleanly will be some time whem he was a Heel mid-carder against a Face mid-carder, or a face mid-carder against a main-eventer. and there's a good reason for this.
Status is the key based on who wins cleanly against who. A Face vs a Heel at the same level, the face will win cleanly, or the heel will win by cheating, unless they are trying to move the Face down the card or the Heel up the card, or vice versa.
A heel mid-carder will beat a face jobber cleanly, a heel mid-carder will beat a face mid-carder by cheating, a heel main-eventer will beat a face mid-carder cleanly, a face mid-carder will only beat a heel main-eventer by cheating. Two main-eventers are the same as two mid-carders and two jobbers ect. But then you have the "golden Goose", the guy that the company is built around. This guy will wrestle a main-eventer the way that a main-eventer will wrestle a mid-carder. the same status rules apply. but there's a whole lot more to all this than that. Match structure also plays a role, but I'm not going to get into that now.
