It seems Xavier is a guy ROH will call up when they need a warm body for a show in Manhattan or Long Island. That said, were he to make a full time (or at least semi-full time) comeback with the company, unless he's regressed or something over the last few years, I wouldn't have any complaints. Guy just got pushed too quickly back in 2002, I think. Yeah. I mean, if you check out his return in 2003, they cheered for him a bit. So they don't outright hate him, just he should have never been champ.

yeah, and the way he took it from Ki was terrible. Eh, wasn't bad, given the whole Prophecy storyline (interference in old school ROH was blasphemy, remember), but it would've had much more impact had Ki held the title longer than just a couple of months.

Also, Low Ki represented what ROH started out as moreso than anyone else. And Ki tore it up in 2002.

I'm just saying, Ki's reign was worthless. 1 succsessful defence. thats all. I would call him transitional, but he was the first.

I considered Low Ki to be ROH's unofficial champion from the very first show (he did win that main event 3-way at Era of Honor Begins). Crowning a Champion just made it official.

That's true; Ki HAD to be the first "official" champion, since no one else was really performing at his level at that point.
Still, I would've liked his official reign to be longer, but what can ya do; things turned out alright, by and large.

Still, I would've liked his official reign to be longer, but what can ya do; things turned out alright, by and large. I don't think things turned out that well when KI lost it. Grant it I like Xavier, and I'm not saying he shouldn't have ever been champ, because I thought it was good that he was. But when I look back on it I'm very disappointed with Low Ki's reign. I mean at the Era Of Honor Begins, ROH was building this guy up to be the main guy for their company, top superstar mind you, at the beginning. It bugged me that after all that hype, and the great matches that he had early on, and then lost the belt a month or so later. It made no sense to me. I always thought he deserved a longer reign. I mean his promo at Crowing a Champion after he won the belt was so real, and moving. I mean I'm glad Joe took the belt from Xavier, and as having Joe beat Low Ki for the belt wouldn't have been as great if you ask me. I mean the ROH fans back then didn't want Xavier champ, and they were ready for him to lose the belt to Joe at Night Of Champions. But all this was almost 5 years ago, and the company has moved on. I'm a big Low Ki mark, and I guess all I can say in the end is that I wish he would've held onto the belt a month or two longer, and say this because of the way ROH booked him in the beginning, and the level he was during 02. -ROH_Fan
