from a very reliable source on another forum.
Dave Meltzer was on F4 Daily and mentioned the Last Rites match between Sting and Abyss on the next PPV. He said he's asked several people in the company what exactly it entails, and not only does nobody know or have any idea, but nobody cares enough to even try and find out.
Last rites? Thoughts?

Casket Match
Though hopefully it will be a return of the infamous Chamber Of Horrors Electric Chair and the FATAL LEVER.

Man, wouldn't it be great if "Last Rites Match" was Russo-ese for "just let them f***ing wrestle!"?
I doubt it'll happen, but a guy can dream. Dream of a day when a PPV is presented in either WWE or TNA without some sort of crazy gimmick match.
I don't wanna wake up.

Is it true that James Mitchell won't be involved for the next few weeks, or even at the PPV for the match?
I read that somewhere.
Also, my guess for "Last Rites Match"....Metal bible on a pole.

First to grab a rosary off a pole and give the opponent last rites wins?

each man has a US constitution and bill of rights on their own poles. whoever grabs the others rites first will be able to enslave the loser. it only makes sense to me if you look at the possibilities.

It'll entail locking your opponent in a cage and lowering it into a pool of "sacred liquid".

The ratio of "...on a pole" matches to non-"...on a pole" matches for this PPV is far too low. Therefore, with my expert scientific analysis, I predict this match will involve something... on a pole.

I love the news, "we dont know and we dont care". my guess is its just a casquet match with a bunch of shity props and scenary that wont change the match's psycology in the least.

By the way, isn't the "last rites" the name of one of Christopher Daniel's finishers?

As far as I know, I'd say he has the BME Best Moonsault Ever and Angels Wings if I'm correct. He also uses the Last Rites, which is his version of the Roll Of the Dice/Test Drive/Rolling Cutter, on occasion (well, not since Roode ripped it off).

Daniels hasn't used the Last Rites much since 2004. I've seen him tease it a few times since then, though, but not much else.
