This show has sounded amazing so far. FYF is off to a great start, and they still have The Briscoes, Morishima/Joe, and Rave/Cide to go on this one.

I laugh at Aries. That's your receipt for turning on the guy with talent on loan from God.
SEE ARIES, YOU GOT YOUR JUST DESSERTS. YOU HAVE YOU CAKE AND NOW YOU EAT IT!

WOAH! I did NOT think Morishima would be jobbing to Joe. I was sure he would plow through Joe, and that the Homicide match was the one that would be up in the air.

Thank the lord Rave lost. Now he can go back to the hole he crawled out of and die.

Ok, I just got back, and good god was that awesome. There's no way in hell I'm gonna sleep, so I might as well do a write up. First and foremost, the Manhatten Center crowd was ridiculously hot. Thy were popping for everything.
The traffic getting into the Lincoln tunnel was ridiculous, so i missed Pelle getting his ass handed to him by Morishima, and most of Pearce vs Delirious. From what I saw it was pretty solid, with Delirious getting the win with some sort of foreign object after Pearce tried to hit Delirious with the tape
There's not a lot to say about the Shimmer tag match. The action was pretty decent, but it was definitely on the short side, with Sara Del Ray getting the win with a cradle butterfly suplex. This match ended way to abruptly to even get out of second gear
The Four way fray was really solid, if not on the short side again. The suprise entrant was Xavier, who the crowd was really into. I wouldn't mind at all if they brought him back fulltime. Xavier and Jacobs were eliminated pretty early, and Jack got the win over Shingo with a 630. It's amazing how much better Jack's gotten since coming back from Dragon Gate
The Tables are legal match was absolutely ridiculous. Table spots include BJ getting thrown off the top rope through a table 10 seconds into the match, an exploder through the table in the corner, BJ getting awesome bombed through TWO tables set up at ringside, and the finish came with an Avalance Exploder through two tables. Absolutely nuts. Both men got a standing ovation afterwards. I'm not a real big Whitmer fan, but he looks really good in these types of matches.
Honestly, I was pretty dissapointed with the Tag title match. Both teams looked kinda off, and there were a couple of spots that looked like they were botch. In a scary moment that was apparently a work, Aries knee gave out on a quebrada and he landed DIRECTLY on his head. Very Hayabuse esque. Daniels and Sydal won after a shooting star press followed by a BME. After the match, Davey Richards came out and Strong turned on Aries, apparently setting up a new stable with Richards. The sound at ring of honor shows pretty much well....sucks, so I couldn't really make out what they're calling themselves, but they do have a name. Evans ran in for the save, but he looked reluctant to side with Aries. This could get interesting.
This is where the show really started to get good. Briscoes vs Colt and Nigel was extremely solid, with Nigel and Colt getting the win after Nigel hit his rebound lariat, and Colt took out the leg with a chop block. It looks like Colt and Nigel are gonna be in it for the long run, nobody goes over the Briscoes these days. Expect a big push for Colt and Nigel
Next was Joe vs Morishima, and GOOD GOD WAS THIS AWESOME. It wasn't quite on the level of Joe Kobashi or Ki KENTA, but it was ridiculously good none the less. Morishima looked like a total bad ass here, but Joe ultimately got the win after Morishima passed out to the choke. This was pretty much everything you'd expect out of Joe and Morishima. Stiff shots and plenty of head drops. Morishima kicked out of a musclebuster and Joe kicked out of a back drop driver. All is well.
Cide vs Rave was also really good. Even though the crowd was a little burnt out after Joe Morishima, the heat for Jimmy Rave was insane. Homicide got the win after breaking the heel hook and hitting a sick cop killah. Jimmy Rave played a great dick heel, and Cide was just ON tonight.
It was a pretty solid show from top to bottom, but the last half of the card absolutely made the show. Joe vs Morishima is pretty much required viewing, and the Briscoes kicked ass like alwyas. It's definitely worth picking up once it makes it to DVD.

Quick update on Aries. The live reports from the show are starting to come in, and that injury may have been legit. He went for a move off the ropes and it seems like his leg went out and he landed flat on top of his head. People were terrified live from what I'm reading. Right after he got pinned he yanked his pad and stuff off clutching at his leg. I don't know if he'll be wrestling Claudio tomorrow night or not.

If he's out for the FYF, that'll seriously make the DVDs that much worse!

Is it just me, or is the new canvas worse than the old (former, I guess) one?
