does anyone else agree that the crowd clapping is piped in? I even heard that MTV had to choose a specific audience they had to be "good looking" to be on WSX. That kind of crap has been done for years though (the crowd piping), it's not going to bother me a whole lot.

because they aren't current like TNA.. tna has ppvs.. tna has a six sided ring... tna has bobby roode TNA was a PPV show, then turned into an informercial for their PPV's, then was a nifty web show, and then a good lead up show. now it's a weird Variety show with 14 minutes of wrestling .. When has Bobby Roode ever amounted to anything? I hate guys with long hair and big beaver teeth I don't get why we were dubbed over really, that was MTV's doing, the crowd when i went was a typical raucus PWG crowd.

I know crowd piping has been done before.. but this is like to the extreme, especially when you can see everyone in the audience.. not like in the WWE where theres a huge stadium full of people and you can't tell, but this is so completely obvious

well compared to the caskets used in the WWE Undertaker casket matches.. and they shake the screen when it explodes like an earthquake just hit the building.. I'd rather see a tiny real looking explosion than a CGI created one

I can't say I agree with them doing the crowd stuff, but in this case I honestly think a "smarky" crowd would do a lot more harm than good.

I've only seen the Vampiro vs 6-Pac match, but it's different. It's MTV's approach to pro-wrestling.
I don't really like that approach, because it seems so forced 'young people fun'. But I do like originality, even if I don't like the choices of being original. I'm not a Chikara fan for example, but can appreciate their original aproach.

What I can condescend on it is that there are no stories being told, just worthless spotfests. I'd like my wrestling to tell some stories. The explosions and the other post-production stuff are cool, but they lose their luster after a while.

All I wanna say is that I'm glad it's common knowledge that The Human Tornado has balls of steel because if it was my first time seeing him I would've been extremely confused as to why he no sold that kick to the balls. Oh wait...

The explosions and stuff are pretty lame (I mean, come on, really. Pirhanas?), but that's about my only problem with WSX.
The matches are worthless spotfests, but so what? There are only 2 or 3 matches per episode. I enjoy the occasional spotfest every now and then. I daresay 30 minutes (minus commercials) of worthless spotfests per week isn't going to burn me out. It's fast paced and it's fun.
No storylines. Damn. I don't have to worry about WSX's creative team taking my suspension of disbelief out back and shattering it into tiny pieces with the "Sledgehammer of Bad Plot Device" every week. (ie. "You mean to tell me that Vampiro is holding X-Pac's mom hostage backstage unless he gives him a title shot? Why doesn't X-Pac just call the police like anyone else would? owait") I don't need bad storylines in WSX to make me cringe and bitch about later, I have the lame exploding caskets to do that.
It's not perfect, true. Hell, it's not even very good. It is, however, spotty wrestling entertainment without most of the boring parts to get in the way. They could be doing much worse.
I'll agree, though, that ring announcer guy needs to be wished well in his future endeavors.

Personally, I like how unapologetically over-the-top it is. There are plenty of places to see "real wrestling", but once in a while the "garbage" can be fun too.

If I didn't hang-out here I wouldn't know it was even on, I'm sure many potential viewers don't know at-all, especially when it gets played opposite WWECW. If it is to succeed it needs a little promotion and a different timeslot. As far as the show goes the explosions are cheesey as hell but I can enjoy a well-done spotfest. I hope Mtv gives it a chance.

I am really tired of certain people, actually its just one, coming in EVERY SINGLE WSX topic and bashing it, it's borderline-obsessive, it's getting worse than Erik and Randy Orton had been. And why bother? Yeah, it's booked like a season, that's why I like it, it's something different. This way, if someone gets injured they can't cancel or drastically switch the match, they can figure something new out. it's SOLID wrestler, it's just wrestling, no dumbass jokes, no clever little inside jokes 'hey, remember this?', it's just a match, if joking happens its through mannerisms which is better than 'lol we have a wrestler named ice cream. THATS HILLARIOUS' So give it a chance, it's something new, but so was the WWF originally.

Its an alternative while its on (and lets hope it actually does well enough to get a second season). Unfortunately, the ratings aren't great They got great ratings....

So in other words, it's ok for WSX hardliners to tell people like me to pick a side or GTFO, for them to invade the ECW threads and talk about what we could be watching instead of ECW despite the fact I already watched WSX when the new episode truly hit on Friday night, but GOD FORBID people should voice their opinion about why they don't like WSX. I don't even know if that was directed at me, but given the fact that i have been vocal about my issues with WSX... Again it's things like this that really make me want to stop watching WSX, which at this point I'm so-so on.

I liked it. Mainly because I mark for cartoonish federations. But aslo, if they try to pose as a "Extreme Federation That Is Better Than The others" they will die an horrible death.

Well, they're right up there with TNA in the ratings, so I don't see why not. Anyone else find it funny that WSX and TNA have about the same ratings? I like watching WSX, it's totally different than TNA or WWE. They don't have guys taking up half of their tv time talking or have an owner who likes to have wrestlers kiss his ass and big hosses running around with all the top belts. Yeah, the explosions and stuff are cheesy, but it's fun to watch. One thing WSX needs more of is Matt Classic. He is gold!
