I was reading the WCCW article at Wikipedia, and when I got to the part about Gino Hernandez throwing Freebird Cream into Chris Adams's eyes. Anyway, it said how the match aired after Hernandez died of cocaine overdose. When it was talking about Hernandez's death, it said that Scotland Yard questioned Chris Adams about Hernandez's death. I wondered why Scotland Yard be involved, so I clicked on the link to the Gino Hernandez article. Hernandez's article said that he lived in Highland Park, TX, and died in his apartment in Highland Park. So, why was Scotland Yard involved in the investigation of Gino Hernandez's death if Hernandez lived in Texas?

Going just on memory here, but Hernandez had "blinded" Adams at the taping, and then Adams went home to England to "recuperate." Hernandez died, and so Adams (his storyline enemy) was supposedly questioned by authorities who considered him a possible suspect in foul play.
I've always figured the Scotland Yard story was a bit of B.S. spun by Fritz Von Erich to keep up the pretense of Adams' storyline "injury." Hard to believe international law enforcement wouldn't understand the real/not real aspects of a pro wrestling angle.

Well, I didn't see that part about Chris Adams going to England when I read the Gino Hernandez article; but I did go back and look at it. Sure enough, Chris Adams was "blinded" so he could spend time in England with his new wife Toni and his family.

I think Fritz Von Erich was pissed that Chris Adams went back to England to be with his family so he concocted the Scotland Yard story to make him look bad

Don't know if he had any hostility towards him, but Fritz was known for doing all kind of odd things with his booking, such as bringing in Lance (fake) Von Erich to fill in while Mike was battling toxic shock syndrome

It is a pretty good bet that the Scotland Yard bit was made up by Fritz Von Erich to help Adams keep his popularity going;I don't think Fritz disliked Chris,it was more a matter of Chris' plans for a feud with Gino brought to a halt by Gino's overdose,so Fritz didn't really know what to do with him for a little while.
