Nope, you're not alone, I thought it was damn near unwatchable.

I loved it SPECIFICALLY because it was so bad, that it was awesome. WSX is by no means a quality product, but it entertained me.

Slow-motion explosions = ratings! I'm definitely going to keep tuning in but I got a feeling the only interesting matches will be on WSXtra online.

1. It was over produced. 2. The commentary was horrible. It was like a video game.. 3. The matches just seem like people are putting moves on each other for no real reason. 4. Why was X-pac trying to interfere with the match after he won? 5. How did new jack eliminate himself if it was an over the top battle royal and he when under the second rope? All of your comments/questions are valid. I will repost some comments I made on WSX in another thread below. I covered questions 1-3. answer to #4 I would assume its because he is a prick heel who just like to beat on people, or he was trying to damage the opponent before the title match. answer to #5 A definite error in either the writing or New Jack just screwed up. Maybe he was suppose to exit over the top rope. Of course, the action i so quick that it requires angles to develop just as fast. The battle royal laid a foundation for a New Jack/anonymous referee feud. Perhaps they signed New Jack and then found out all the other wrestlers refused to work with him and New Jack will have to feud with first timers and referees. Anyway here are my other comments. I tell you I thought the WSX was going to be much worse. This is what happened when you have a team create a show with no Vince Mcmahon to ultimately make a decision. For every thing WSX does well, they match it with something stupid. I can deal with the explosios. Look at FMW? in Japan in the 90's. They use to put some asses in some seats with all that stuff. Of course they used the props a little more logically. The announcers have to go. They need more ground based wrestlers. Its like you have 30 guys and the only ones you will be able to differentiate if your a non-fan is Credible, Vampiro, and Matt Classic. Everyone else is a sub 200 lb. spot monkey. People will probably think X-Pac is with the White trash guys. You can tell that they had someone who had some knowledge of wrestling involved. Being MTV which is notoriously cheap, you know they had a spending cap that wasn't very large. They managed to get quality with what I am assuming is a small budget, so someone knew what they were doing. A clueless person might have had a roster packed with the Tyson Tomko's. Virgil's, Koko B. Ware etc, just because they were once in the WWE. However, this same mark got talked into apparently pushing X-Pac and Justin Credible. The person with no knowledge is responsible for the 30 minute tv spot, explosions for the sake of explosions, and the commentators. The commentators I won't even begin to guess on. Definately, lower tier talent that they were experimenting with. Definately a MTV executive forced this move. Gordon Solie rolled in his grave during the initial broadcast.

It was the first episode. Everyone should just lighten up. The first ROH show EVER started with two guys making out. And look what ROH is now.

A lotta people here made up their minds before it even started that it would suck(including me) I still haven't seen it, but with all the love it's getting here, it kinda reminds me how everybody bashed Khali and the new ECW, but now he's great(no pun intended) and everyone still watched (and kinda likes) the new ECW-it doesn't really make any sense

It wasn't terrible, but it was kind of bad, yes. However, I'll give it some time. Like everything, things need time to grow. Things need time to find what they are, and how they can put on the best shows. So, having said that, I will give it a few weeks, before it gets better. time? So, you are going to have to watch it for a year. They have already shot the season. So that pretty much means nothing much is going to change. T.I. is going to be a comentator. Do you really want to hear rubber band man act like he cares about wrestling?

I'm willing to give it a chance, but given all the amped-up fanboyism for a less-than awesome premeiere, I'm wondering why I should bother. Note that's not directed at you, DSR, your fanboyism for WSX I can tolerate, it's the far end of the spectrum fanboys that irritate me. Still, I have to point out that where one said this was just the first episode and that the others are better, well...the preview for the next one had a bigger camera-shaky fake explosion so I'm wondering if that's really true.

Yeah, I manage to think WSX is decent without going "This is the greatest wrestling promotion of all time, and all other promotions will soon be out of business" about it. It's an okay little show, but it certainly isn't the end-all be-all. And I thought that the preview was for the whole season, not just next week"s episode. But, I guess we'll see.
