Guys, they HAD to change his name. It allows both for a shot at Micheal Cole, which is always wise, as well as saving Lashley from having his head explode when he eventually defends the ECW title against TAFKLB.
You say your name is Little Bastard, and you love to fight? Well I say your name is Little Bastard and...wait, uh, hold on. Help! *head explodes*
After that, there's all the cleaning and mopping, and probably repainting, and no one wants that.

Funny, if you pull up the text of his bio, they haven't changed his name there. They still call him the Little Bastard.
I don't blame them for changing the name though. With SmackDown being the one brand whose show is on network TV and not cable, they probably did get a lot of pressure for having a recurring character named Little Bastard.

I think "Hornswoggle" means to cheat or steal.
As in "I've been hornswoggled out of my money! I call shenanigans!"

Finlay called him Hornswoggle at No Way Out backstage when he was trying to calm him down. I thought Finlay was just calling him a nickname.
