From This coming Monday's Observer
Due to poor buyrates and drastic comparisons to UFC Buys. Vince has decided to change the way single brand ppv's are approached.
They will still be promoted eg WWE RAW Presents... or WWE Smackdown presents... but they will feature talent from other brands.
an example of this is for Backlash, it is a RAW PPV but Lashley, RVD, Batista and Undertaker are scheduled to appear.
Dave says the brand split is not being dropped but top talent from each brand will be appearing on other shows very frequently. So it isn't just happening before Mania, it is happening after mania.
The main reason for this change is WWE need to have more star power on these ppv shows to make the show worth the money.
Stephanie McMahon sent out a memo saying Vince wants more of an emphasis on interbrand matches on PPV Show to open up more potential new matches.

So they're ending the split without ending it. Ok then.

WOW, WWE doing something that kind of makes sense.

Why just not end the split completely?

Why just not end the split completely? Vince is stubborn. He won't end the split because it'll be admitting that he's wrong....even though ending it is basically what hes doing.

Hmm, must be getting desperate at this point. Buy rates must be pretty bad at this point.

Why just not end the split completely? Because then the IWC would win, and Vince can't have that!

Honestly, I like this idea, I was never a fan of the split in the first place.

I guess I'm in the minority that actually likes the brand split?
Maybe it's just that I don't want Orton, Cena, and Lashley to dominate everyone and always be on tv.

I like the brand split, but there is no denying that it could have been MUCH bigger than better than it is. WWE could have three brands right now, with their own rosters, storylines etc., and each be as successful as each other.

I like the idea in a way, cause it gives you more bang for your buck, but this also means for every SD/ECW star on a Raw PPV, that's one less match for the Raw lower/mid card to shine.
Soon every PPV will feel the same as "The Big 4"

I like it. Its modifing the brand split with out ending it. The big names will move between shows and the lower card will still have a home and not have to worry about being fired like if it ended.

Why just not end the split completely? Because then the IWC would win, and Vince can't have that! No, if the split ends the IWC loses. Because many of the IWC darlings will be either released, or not get much tv time anymore. Thats why I like the split and hope it does not end. The roster would get so badly cut down if the split ends. It would make the other mass cut downs recently look like nothing. I like the idea for the PPV's, just like when the brand split started, all the PPV's were both brands, and that was a good idea.

This should work by just having the PPVs both branded.
Keep everything else, you can have all the multi brand matches and stuff, just have 'WWE Presents...' before the PPVs.
Then it would make more sense to me. Right now it looks like a horribly crafted buyrate ploy
