The ECW Blame Game

Why should the fans be punished because of RVD's mistake? Why didn't WWE just punish him harshly OFF-screen (after the initial suspension, of course) instead of on-screen?

In any view, the new ECW was screwed from the beginning. I blame several people, none of them active wrestlers: Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, Johnny Ace, and Kevin Dunn.

Lackluster by whose standards? Certainly not the majority of fans. Overall the PPV was well-received, and rightly so.

Fact is guys. Big Show never struck me as 'ECW'. But as 'WWE-Lite' it would have worked.

Sadly, Big show is gone, Vince isn't intelligent enough to realize that by demoting Van Dam and all of the actuall ECW guys...you know, all four of them who were stupid enough to think ECW would actually be allowed to even be as much as an actual SHADOW of it's former self (this abortion which I call WWE-lite cause it's basically nowhere close to even being a pale imitation of ECW), he's basically giving them a REASON to not give enough of a damn to put in actual effort since all of them have been jobbed out to WWE guys who can't even get OVER in the regular WWE brands, well...let's face it. Without matches being contested in the same manner as the original ECW, with people like Hardcore Holly, Lashely, Test, and Snitsky (who for some reason seems to be being repackacged as a knock-off of Kane with this new look of his) constantly going over, and CM punk being the only other person other than the actual ECW guys that the fans are really connecting with...the WWE-Lite experiment is dead. Bricng back WCW. Sure, Vince will fluff his ego at it's expense, but nobody actually EXPECTS him to let WCW shine. Despite the fact that Smackdown! practically IS WCW in it's glory days come around again, what with the fact that almost everyone save most of the tag team division, along with Kennedy and uh....I think Batista, are all former WCW alumni (and a good portion of them are also former ECW Originals), and the fact that Smackdown pretty much has the exact WCW title line-up...

Well, we expect Vince to piss on WCW's grave by dredging it up just to murder it again, at least he'd be keeping Linda's promise to revive it as a brand (which she did on Friday the 23rd of March 2001 when they bought the Goddamn company), and we'd KNOW Vince would make it suck.

Did he really need to bring back ECW just to ruin what little prestige it had made for itself before it went under? Jeez..

it's kind of funny,in a way...in 1998,wwe thought ecw/hardcore was brawling around the arena hitting your opponent with as many weapons as possible.thus,every "hardcore" match was a complete laughing stock ..now,i'm not sure if it's mcmahon spite,or just being genuinely bad at what you(wwe) do.

my official stance: i'll tape it if there is interesting diva "distraction"...everything else gets fast forward.I go pay $15-30 to watch KingKong Bundy beat the Iron sheik @ a jersey shore indy,but i will pay NOT to go to ecw when it comes to town and friends buy me tickets because they think i want to go.Sorry,vince.

I blame Vince. He is the guy on top making the decisions. RVD does not give a damn anymore so why should he keep trying if he is going to TNA once his contract expires with WWe? None gives a flying uck about ABOBO LASHLEY, Tommy dreamer is now the new brooklyn brawler, and Stephanie is still booking the shows.

I think vince would rather kill off ECW then give RVD the ECW title and it looks ECW may drop dead soon.
