ROH is the best WRESTLING show.
But I find myself enjoying CHIKARA more. They have matches that aren't anything to sneeze at, plus a lot of very good comedy bits.

CHIKARA is really the perfect promotion for me, because I like to laugh when I watch wrestling.
ROH is very, very good, but it can be a bit heavy at times. CHIKARA has a lot of meat in terms of wrestling, no production values at all, but it's FUNNY, by God.

I should find some Chikara and watch it. I think that's why I'm hesitant about watching ROH. It sounds like the ER of pro-wrestling (all play and no fun) while Chikara sounds like the HOUSE (fun w/some drama). WWE is most certainly the Grey's Anatomy (soap opera).

It sounds like the ER of pro-wrestling (all play and no fun) while Chikara sounds like the HOUSE (fun w/some drama). WWE is most certainly the Grey's Anatomy (soap opera). Don't get me wrong, there ARE fun and games in ROH. Colt Cabana is one of the funniest wrestlers of all time, and can put on a hell of a match at the same time. But it's lighter comedy, peppered here and there to relieve tension, as opposed to being the whole point of the promotion. CHIKARA is all about silliness. They've had matches between Lance Steel and Lance Steel to see who would get banished to the past. They have an alien invader from beyond called Ultramantis Black, a guy called Hydra who thinks he's a mythical beast, a guy called 'Sweet n' Sour' Larry Sweeney who goes around with feather boas and ringlets and driving in a Trans Am, claiming to be a real man's man and calling people 'bums'. It has good wrestling, but it's all about the gimmicks. The difference between CHIKARA humor and WWE humor is that CHIKARA's is actually FUNNY. They don't slap you in the face with it, like having Cryme Tyme in a retirement home and then having a bunch of guys in front of a monitor going 'WHOA HA HA HA', as if saying 'LAUGH IT'S FUNNY LAUGH AT IT'. CHIKARA stuff is charmingly silly, and I love it. Pretty good production values, but they wrestle in front of thirty people at times. But don't let that fool you, it's good stuff, if you're into that kind of wrestling. Plus, they have Mike Quackenbush, who actually lives up to his monikor of 'Man of a Thousand Holds'.

Raw, with Smackdown a very close second. I'd probably vote for Smackdown if it were live and not on a Friday, so most times I just read the spoilers.

Cmll has Mistico, Dr Wagner, Negro Casas, El Hijo De El Santo, Ultimo Guerrero, Atlantis, Ultimo Dragon, Dos Caras Jr, Mr Aguila, Perro Aguayo Jr, Hector Garza, Shocker, Averno, Mephisto. Real luchadors. I wish they still showed in the US.
Also why is noah not listed?

As someone who has never seen Ring of Honor, I would like to know more about why so many have chosen it. (hint, discuss) The matches mostly. I don't think I've ever seen a terrible ROH event either. How we roll was a pretty poor show. I'll go with ROH.

This is a weird topic. What defines the best? Is it the performances in the ring? Is it the television rating they brought in? Is it the merchandise they were able to sell? I watch WWE simply because it is the most polished PRODUCT. The storylines wax in and out, the action in the ring is far too predictable, and the backstage interviews are usually meaningless. But wrestling is a business. WWE makes money hand over fist on their merchandise. Anyone else notice how many glowsticks there are in the audience every RAW episode? They probably cost $5-10 and the little kids all want one. I know I am gonna have to buy some for my son when we go to WM in April.

I only hear of it or see it in internet clips but they need to televise ROH around my neck of the woods. They could give both of the major promotions a run for their money.
Think Vince would buy it?

smackdown, with roh as a very close second. i dont like the lack of lighting in roh. for some reason, it really annoys me. other than that though, they are both pretty much seamless.
roh= best in ring action on earth smackdown= best balance of wrestling and entertainment.

I'm going to have to go NOAH. With ROH a clsoe second.
I'm going starting to get into CHIKARA and HUSTLE so I could'nt really say. I'm also hearing great things about NJPW's current stuff aswell but like CMLL I have'nt been able to see any of it in a while.
Also, WWE's stuff is currently very entertaining aswell I think, (as it usually is around WM). It's seems to be just alright but then something unexpected comes up makes it fantastic (see Flair's promo).

ROH is good for wrestling, but right now I think Smackdown is the most entertaining show overall. Smackdown has a decent mix of characters and good wrestling, hands down the best color commentator in professional wrestling currently.
My only problem with ROH is its too serious at times, the wrestlers are serious and the crowd is serious. Not enough marks in ROH crowds either.
