Heh, and all he got was shoved up a fat woman's ass and reunited with Road Dogg for his trouble. That was horrible! Why does everyone have a hard on for the Attitude Era again? I was too busy watching ECW to care. Although I did like The Ministry any Stone Cold. Although they were ripoffs of Raven's Nest and The Sandman.

I dunno, I tend to think there's alot of rose colored glasses when it comes to ECW too, even though I liked it as well.

Having just watched a couple of Raws from 1999 again a couple of weeks ago, I still think it was vastly superior to the shows now. I'm just a hell of a lot more entertained by the old shows.

Bubba Dudley, hear me out on this. After the roster split, he had that feud against Triple H. I thought for sure that he would be given a title run. Bubba wasn't bad as a singles guy at that point. Neither was Bradshaw. Anyways... I think a lot of these guys were very good, but very few did I ever think were going to be champion. Davey Boy had some close calls that wouldn't have surprised me if he won, and I thought for sure that Scott Hall would win it eventually. But other than that, the list is short. Maybe Billy Gunn, O'Haire, Test, and Dustin Rhodes, who, if Hogan hadn't arrived in WCW in 1994, would have been champion within a year or two. And, for what it is worth, Rick Rude WAS the NWA/WCW International Champion. Barry Windham was too, but I would have liked to see him with the real title. -Ian

Dang Val Venis and Robby Conway??? Agreed that they had the look, but the gimmicks they were stuck with were just too brutal. Maybe Shotgun Saturday Night champs...anyways...
Gotta go with Owen Hart during the "Black Heart" days. Just watch D-Generation X (IYH) if you wanna see how excited people were to see Owen still in the Federation. Coulda put the belt on him around that era, but they stuck him in a feud for the European championship.
Definitely diggin' Zen411's list too...... Rick Rude couldn't have fit the role of a great heel champion more then with his feud with The Warrior.
Mr. Perfect is also a guy who deserved it more then anybody, but his injury cost him some prime years. I look at Flair's title run in the WWF partially as Curt's reign too. He added a lot to Flair's character....The Executive Consultant....classic stuff

Goldust. Especially in the Attitude Era. I kinda feel like he was the most cutting edge character they had. With how the WWF Championship changed hands back then, I was almost certain he would get a run with it.
[Current] Shelton Benjamin. I feel he is overdue for atleast a Main Event push, sure he doesn't have they greatest mic skills, but he has all the talent in the world. I kinda assumed last fall that they would put Johnathan Coachman with him as his mouthpeice and give him a Main Event push.

I still think Shelton has a main event push left in him somewhere
But I predicted Shelton vs Orton for WM22 after WM20.

I know RVD won it and "blew it" but considering how over he was during the alliance angle I thought he would get it much much earlier. Yep.

I think 99' was just a real bad year storyline and booking wise, though. When I think of the Attitude era, I think of the greatness that was late 97, 98 and 2000. 99' is the red dot on the Attitude era's cashmere sweater, if you will.
