I recently watched royal rumble 96 and summerslam 96....around the time vader started with the company...and it seemed as if they were act using him right... I still rem watching wwf back then and vader jsut seemd like such a bad-ass..(this coming from some1 who never saw any of his WCW run...just read about if and heard people talk) when he debuted i was exited becasie of how good people said he was and i was more than satisfied...at the rumble i just thought it was a sure fire hit he'd be a champion within the year...he had all the makings of a top unstoppable heel...he looked scary and had alot of intense charisma...he looked like he would totally destroy you! He continued 2 be pushed right.....vader bombing gorilla monsoon...and feuding with shawn michaels..again the video package for that match made it look like shawns time was up..vader was just a killer heel on a warpath.. Fair enough he didn't win that match but looked strong..he beat shawn by countout and disqualification but wanted the match restarted so he could win the belt..this looked way more of a fluke win for HBK than anythbing else... BUT..for some reason..he was thrown in2 jobber-dom...he lost almost every big match...and dspent 1997 gettin squashed by kane..an feuding with goldust as a face!!! WTF Does anyone know why he was depushed so badly? It started so well..why did they job him out

I really think the injury along with himself getting out of shape really lead to his downfall in WWE.
I however liked his rise to power in All Japan again showing he still could "tussle"

"Vader wasn't one of Vince's creations," obviously.

Booking for sure had a lot to do with it, this guy should have at least been WWE Champ for a few months and go Vader WCW-style on everyone, but I think Vince didn't like him (or so I heard), so that's why they fed to him to HBK, which made no sense to me, as Vader could probably kill the guy if he wanted, yet he has to job to him.
Then they turned him face, which was a huge mistake and killed his mystique and badassery even more than it already was.

He wasn't booked right, he's a monster, and needs to be booked that way. He debuts at the Rumble and didn't do much of anything. Pretty much down hill from there, then when he turned face, it got worse

Yeah I agree he should of had at least one run with the belt, I mean Sid got two runs and I never liked Sid . Vader was so f'n cool it's just disappointing, with his WWF run.

I think I remember JR saying once that he got some heat in the WWF after awhile due to some hygiene issues, one of many factors that lead to his depush. Apparently, Vader is superstitious about the amount he needs to wash his tights. Ugh.

Eh theres no one reason why. I think one of the main reasons is simply they didnt keep him in the main event. A lot of wrestlers get really good pushes in the wwe for a while and then they are forgtten. (Shelton BEnjamin and his singles career) The wwe pushed him, then forgot about him. Vader fell into a booking rutt which also had to do with his character. A huge 400 pound destroying people in the mid card is not that apealing.

The Shawn Michaels match at SummerSlam ruined him. He looked like much less of a monster for giving Shawn so much offense, selling too much, and jobbing.

That never gets old to me, I remember watching that Raw and nearly killing myself with laughter when Vader hit the floor like that.

I wouldn't say he flopped really. True, he didn't ever achieve his WCW levels, but it's not like he was totally portrayed as inept either.

For the get go the WWF never used him well, so he was doomed the moment he debuted for them.

You're right, he did beat the Undertaker at RR 97 and was in the Final Four for the WWF title in Feb 97, then after that he was just floundering around the card, not really taken seriously, then the face turn against the Harts that killed what was left of his credibility. Even referred to himself as "fat piece of s***" at the Unforgiven 98 PPV for some reason, not sure if that was a shoot or work, as Russo was behind the scenes at the time.

That's all I'm saying yes his run left a lot to be desired, but flopped to me sounds like he got brought in and just annihilated by everybody.
