Why are so many internet wrestling fans acting as flag bearers for their favorite promotion with this NWO style"you are either with us or you are against us" attitude. Prior to Tuesday night, many bloggers were having hostile debates over TNA vs. WWE. Now that WSX has premiered you have some bloggers defending it while feeling that they must insult ECW the organization and its fans. The WWE hard core fans are calling the WSX a joke after one episode. Someone please tell me that these are just young fans expressing themselves through immaturity. I sincerely hope none of these flag bearers have reached their 20's, because it is really rather silly. I hope WSX works out because it will be better for the industry. Do I believe it will have an impact on the wrestling industry? No. I don't believe that MTV is going to commit to the financial burden of creating a competitive organization. It will last for 2-3 seasons. However, I do urge everyone to support it. WWE fans have nothing to worry about anytime soon from the WSX. There is only thing that this attitude accomplishes. It gives writers like that guy from Sporsline ammunition to make fun of wrestling fans.

A.) That guy made fun of Edge. Not fans of Edge.
B.) That guy writes for CBS's website. I don't watch CBS, and I don't visit their website, so his opinion means jacks*** to me.

Not only that, but, hell, I think wrestling fans are, as a whole, some of the more intelligent ones! Lets face it, its not wrestling fans that go to OUTDOOR events, in the winter, shirtless, with their entire bodies painted in team colors. Its not wrestling fans that riot, turning over cars and setting the streets on fire when their team WINS (let alone if they LOSE) the "big game" The only things I can say about wrestling fans are the morons that every so often charge the ring and throw things, but, the NBA proved last season with their little basketbrawl that that's not just wrestling.

Someone posted on another thread that he called wrestling fans "booger eaters". I have to laugh after typing that. Anyway, i'm just repeating what someone else said and I can't verify that is was actually said.

I think that people jump aboard the "TNA vs WWE" or "ECW vs WSX" bandwagons because it is a way for them to live out their wrestling fantasies. By a person completely waving the WSX flag while constantly denouncing ECW, they are getting to simulate the kinds of stable wars that you see in wrestling angles.
And I'm not saying this to belittle anyone who might do this kind of stuff, because I to have my own "wrestling fantasies" that I carry about. I just do it in different ways.

I don't think our petty "insider" rivalries give us a worse name than we already have.
We're just expressing our preferences, sometimes in a mature and constructive way, some other times in a childish and fanboy-ish way.
But we're not really bothering other people like fans of more popular sports/shows use to do. We know people AT BEST don't care about wrestling, so we keep our fandom and analysis for ourselves.
On the other hand people will endlessly rant about AC Milan signing Ronaldo or about some NFL top name...
In the big picture nobody cares if I'd rather watch a dull RAW episode than a ROH 5 star classic, or if I think Danielson should be World Champion in every federation.
We're a minority among fans of a niche and kinda "segragated" form of entertainment, so we're not popular by default, wheter we're competent and intelligent fans or not...

Don't get me wrong, I don't think there is anything wrong with constructive criticism. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a favorite promotion. It just gets ridiculous when people badmouth other fans because of their preferences. The NFL/soccer analogy you brought up makes sense. I am a New Orleans Saints fan. I would have loved to been able to attend the NFC championship game in Chicago. However, I would leave my Saints jersey home unless I was in the mood to hear "you suck" and F you everytime I went up and down the aisle to the concession stand. It happens in every stadium. When I see fans from the opposing team at the Superdome in New Orleans, I try to go out of my way to make them feel safe. They are spending a bunch of money in my city and they shouldn't have to feel threatened. I try to be nice in order to make up for the drunk clowns that are going to eventually insult them especially if the Saints lose. In the 2000 playoffs, I had a St. Louis Rams fan sitting in front of me. I had to stand up so someone could get by me and I accidentally spilled beer on him. When he turned around, I could actually smell the fear on him. I immediatly apologized and made a joke.

Every hobby has a fanboy.
Nintendo Fanboys Lakers Fanboys Honda Fanboys WWE Fanboys CM Punk Fanboys Anime Fanboys
Thats just life.
People are pathetic and have no actual talents of their own so they latch on to something.

I didn't think anyone here was a WWE fanboy, the way we all slam on it. Not that it doesn't deserve it alot of the time.
