So far, it's: Officially In: Dusty Rhodes "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig Jerry "The King" Lawler To Be Announced: Jim Ross Nick Bockwinkel Most Likely Getting In This Year: The Wild Somoans That's a pretty damn good class. Hopefully, Ted DiBiase and/or The Von Erichs will get in this year. The Von Erichs are to be announced I believe. They better be!

I think that class is a little underwhelming while jim ross deserves to be in, I don't really think that lawler does. As a matter of fact isn't this the wwe hall of fame? Why are there so many people who in wwe didnt do much such as verne, dusty, etc? I understand they are great and legendary and all that jazz but in the wwe? I think not and another thing why isnt jake roberts, the bulldogs, owen hart, in the hall and hey shouldnt bam bam get in this year after his death? He was big in wwe and did huge business for lt!

According to some news site, Lawler wanted Lance Russell to induct him, but got talked out of it.

Here is what I said in the other thread about this: I know who Lance is (said to have been talked out of it because no knows who Lance is). He is easily the second best announcer in Wrestling history and played a huge part in King's career. Just stupid. They better have Bob Zamuda (sp) as Tony Clifton inducting him now or do not enough people know about that either.

I don't know or care who Cody Rhodes is, but I know who Lance is. Well, I know who Lance is, but I recognize that he isn't someone who will connect with the majority of WWE's current fan base. I am only saying that I understand where the company is coming from. Dusty's son is a different story. WWE would likely not have been as opposed if Lawler had requested Grandmaster Sexay, just out of respect that he is Lawler's son and for the fact that at least more of the current fans will know him. Also, remember that Lawler agreed to choose someone else. On the other hand, Dusty told WWE who he wanted to the the induction and wouldn't bend on it. Lawler bended. Seriously, can you blame WWE for wanting a more well known personality to do the induction?

So who do we all think will induct everyone? I think it would be awesome, to see dustin rhodes induct dusty as goldust! Grandmaster sexay has to induct lawler or jr if jr isnt inducted. For mr perfect, I assume Larry the axe will accept on his behalf and to induct him I'd go with bret hart if he would agree to do it but I doubt he would so maybe flair. Obviously if JR is inducted then there is no better choice but Stone Cold Steve Austin what do ya'll think?

In regards to Curt Hennig, I think it would be more appropriate if his widow and his children were there to actually accept, though I wouldn't mind if Larry the Axe was with them or doing the induction of him.

am i the only one who hates the idea of the "celebrity wing" of the HOF? I think it's a good idea. Look at the rock & roll hall of fame, they have a non-performer role and it doesn't do the main HOF any harm. I don't agree that the first inductee should have been Pete Rose though.

The only people I would induct into the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame are Mr. T and Cyndi Lauper. Both played a major role in the WWF's popularity in the 80s and helped them to achieve mainstream acceptance.
Bockwinkel is an awesome choice. Since it's clear Vince has expanded the Hall of Fame, I have no problem with this. I agree with Lawler's induction...he would probably have gotten into the Hall of Fame alone on his WWE announcing. Ross should definitely be in there and so should the Wild Samoans.

I never really knew much about Bockwinkel until recently. I was really impressed by how he came across on the AWA dvd. He seems like a genuinely nice guy, very level-headed and not bitter in any way about the business.

Okay, here'e my HOF wish list: Randy Savage (never gonna happen) Playboy Buddy Rose (one of WWE's best jobbers ever, former AWA tag team champion, and an all-out indy superstar) Jesse Ventura (couldn't wrestle the top off a toothpaste tube, but great promo guy/announcer) Jake the Snake Roberts Arn Anderson (very good worker, UNTOUCHABLE on the mic) Bam Bam Bigelow (great Dead Pool entry) Buddy Landell (for gravy-training Ric Flair for his entire career) Sid Vicious (no talent, just LOOKS so damn scary) JR (so good he's the only untouchable guy in WWE)

After watching the AWA DVD, I was also impressed by how he came across. He had great stories and offered great insights. Also, the footage of his interviews and matches show that he was very talented.
