Alright in the next paragraph of rambling Ill explain a new theory that just popped into my mind.
Late last week while at work. I was checking out a customer who was renting The Marine. I asked him if he really wanted to rent that movie as I hadn't heard anything too good about the movie. We talked for a few minutes and he explained to me that he was renting it for his kid. Now this leads me to believe that those of us who were into wrestling over 20 years ago most likely grew up liking Hulk Hogan. He was dominant like Cena is now and most of the time he didn't have the "best" matches...kinda like Cena now. What I'm trying to get out here is that I believe that Cena is "This Generation's Hulk Hogan." Granted he may not be drawing anywhere near Hogan levels but sooner or later something will happen.

Well he no-selled punches like Hogan on Raw so they are trying at least.

In the slightest I guess this is a comparision of "Supah Cena" and Hulk Hogan.

I guess he's just trying to say that even though the majority of our generation of hardcore wrestling fans don't like Cena, the next generation does for the same reason that many of our generation loved Hogan.

Also, during the Orton/Cena RAW match, Cena did "hulk-up" late in the match much like Hogan did. Orton played the heel part well; throwing punches and begging off when they didn't have any effect - much like Savage back in the day.
Another point that could be made regarding last night's RAW & Cena was the unbelievable "kid" response he was getting last night. All throughout the match you could constantly hear kids screaming on the top of their lungs for their hero, John Cena, much like we all did when we were kids in the 80's for Hogan. The difference: kids in the 80's would scream for a hero that told them to train hard, say their prayers and eat their vitamins; kids these days scream hard for a guy who tells them to "F-U".
And still another point is the fact that both have made horrible movies back in their "hay-day". Hogan started his movie career (post Rocky III) w/ No Holds Barred and then starred in a plethera of bad movies during his first WW(F) run. Cena is well on his way w/ the Marine and I have no doubt that Vince and co. will continue putting Cena in front of the camera in the future.

Joe is the next Hogan... well better than Hogan. Joe will beat the crap out of those kids until they scream for him.... to not eat them.
That's all I have for this thread.

I watched No Holds Barred in the theatres and had a friend of my dad's tape it for me on VHS just because of Hogan's involvement in the film. So I certainly understand the situation.
Let the kids have their hero. Cena is not Hogan, and will never be anything close, but if he pushes merchandise and appeals to a top demographic, then they should keep pushing him. Hell, I'm not watching the shows, so why should I care?

I like the no-selling Hogan-esque style that Cena does towards the end of the match, kinda gives you the indication the end is near for his opponent, I know most wrestling purists hate it, but it's entertainment.

Every Generation has there "Hogan". You have your Harts, Goldbergs, Austins, Rocks and so on. You get the marketing machine behind someone and stuff like this will happen.

Seeing John Cena do a fancy fist drop and a fireman's carry isn't mind-rotting. Internet message boards may very well be, judging by the amount of normally intelligent individuals who read posts and conform to the majority opinion.

I really think Cena wants to get better in-ring, but WWE doesn't want him to, and he idolized WWF as a child so his mentality as a fan is, 'ok, thankyou for this oppurtunity'
