also, i was thinking if i can get enough participation in the next one, maybe they can put it as one of those special stickies (like the gooker award one) so that there's a bit more awareness to it, because i do want to definitely do this same list, but try to get around 100 voters... i think the list would be a bit more true (although i do think that at least the top 20 is a pretty accurate cross section of the top wrestlers here)...

I wouldnt do the "most hated" or whatever because we already know its going to read "Hogan, McMahon, McMahon, Hunter, Cena, Orton, Batista"

well here's a question, does anybody on here have BOTH an extensive DVD/VHS collections AND the ability to encode them and upload them to a site like DailyMotion.com?
With the Top 20 Best matches, I definitely would want a video of each match. Yeah, you can usually find most of them, but I would want absolutely all 20 to have video links...

The major problem I see with this list is that it seems to only include wrestlers from like 1990 and on with very few exceptions (Andre, Dibiase, Rude) while wrestlers such as Harley Race, Bruno Sammartino, Dusty Rhodes, and Bob Backlund are not. I guess this is the folly of, most likely, the age of those voting. Not hating because you would get that today with any sport. Ask a 15 year old about Bronco Nagurski or even Jim Brown and he'll probably look at you like you just grew a third ear. Sign of the times I guess.

Some good ideas for the next thread.
Personnally I'd like to see the 'Top 50 Worst Wrestlers' as I think that the results would be very interesting.
25 Best Tag Teams would be cool too.
20 Greatest Matches - I'm not so bothered about this one, mainly as off the top of my head I don't think I could come up with 20 lol.
Top 20 women Wrestlers/Valets would be cool (but not hottest as that just turns it into beauty contest and this is a wrestling board)
Top 25 worst gimmicks could be fun, don't do the top 25 though as I suspect a rather obvious deadman to walk away with it.
Top 20 Managers ot Top 25 moments in wrestling might be a good ones too.

Can't believe Bret Hart is #1....blasphemous on so many levels...but yea I want top 50 WORST Wrestlers...we all know Warrior will win, but it'll still be fun.

Average age of the posters on here is late teens to 20s so not surprising, plus it's a list of favorites not greatest (although some may have voted that way). To be honest Race, Sammartino, Rhodes and Backlund didn't even cross my mind when choosing my 25, as they rarely featured in my wrestling viewing when they wrestled. Plus none of those four interest me that much, but that's just my own opinion. |

Well that's where the "Worst Wrestler" title comes into play... is it based simply on technical skill? is it about the gimmick? or is it a sweet spot that can only be described as "Duke 'The Dumpster' Droese-ism"?
Again, that's why I don't put restrictions on these, it's all a matter of opinion. Personally, Duke would never be there, because I remember actively enjoying him at the time. Now, I see how stupid it is, but sometimes it's all about how you feel at that moment.

i say top 20 PPVs or Tag Teams. That way it is extremely easy to know what qualifications have to be done.
