Let's face it, he doesn't belong in ECW. But before he was moved, he was having great success on SD (his last feud with Tatanka not withstanding). He was over with the crowd as a monster-squash wrestler ala Goldberg. He was fun to watch and looked like he could have a bright career. Heck, a future match with Batista would be fun to me.
But then they did something stupid and moved him to ECW, hotshotted the title to him that he just wasn't ready for yet, and is fast losing credibility to people. They stopped whatever momentum he was gaining on SD.
Do you think he can eventually recover? Orton is just starting to get his heat back after his disasterous face turn. Shelton is in tag team purgatory. Carlito is really doing anything (hopefully his feud with Flair will solve that). I think he can, but it's not gonna happen in ECW.

Really? I think Lashley is gaining cred each week. Sure he's got all the charisma of a living Al Wilson (as the dead Al Wilson, surprisingly, had more), but he looks good in his matches. We have a no-nonsense huge mofo who is dominating his opponents each and every week, which can get old, but in the right hands it's still entertaining. Every once in a while we need one of those guys.

ive never heard him more over than i did last night i dont know what you mean, hes getting more and more popular. You seriously think feuding with a bum like tatanka is more high profile than being one of the 3 champs.

If anything, ECW is losing the individual cred of old as it morphs into "just another WWE brand."
But Lashley is getting over more and more, it seems. Apparently the kids like the monster amongst the hardcore folks.

He needs a full blown match with someone who can work to get him over, like Benoit, Regal, Finlay, or Micheals.

They hotshotted him to the title and he's now getting the overpush I feared CM Punk would get at first, but he's a much better wrestler than some on these forums give him credit for. He'll be fine.

Lashley is actually a decent big muscle wrestler. But he NEEDS a mouthpiece.

Lashley asked to go to ecw, rememeber.
Which looking at the latest buyrate for the ecw PPV (90,000) was a mistake financially if nothing else.

Lashley asked to go to ecw, rememeber. Which looking at the latest buyrate for the ecw PPV (90,000) was a mistake financially if nothing else. But according to the rumours he was supposed to be a monster heel. That would have worked real good, even if it was just the Lesnar-angle recycled. But Lashley as a heel would have helped him grow as a wrestler.

What Lashley needs hi a feud that will give him credibility. Cena had his feuds with Umaga and Edge and Batista had his feud with HHH. Lashley needs some one that can make him seem credible. In my eyes the only person who can do that is Punk but first Punk has to beat someone like Snitsky and than Lashley will get some credibity as will Punk. Until than in my eyes Lashley has not had a feud that has made him a main eventer. I mean the JBL, Finlay and Booker did help him a bit but squashing Holly will just set him back. He needs someone that will make everyone say wow. Thats how he will gain cred.

And it was better to stay on smackdown and be a semi regular main eventer than be the top guy on a joke brand.

What I would do is move Kane to ECW (it's not like he's doing anything on SD anyway at the moment, although I get the feeling that may change soon). Kane is very good at getting newcomers over and can be an incredible monster heel for Lashley to get into a feud with. A victory over Kane means something. Snitsky? Don't think so. Heck, I even think Kane would be a good ECW champion.

Why move Lashley?
The ECW "needs" guys like him... like him or not, but he is a monster... he gets the pops... and he is a becoming huge...
let ECW have a superstar...... geez...
It's like...
Lashley is blowing up... better move him to RAW...
screw that... let him become a player, and bring other players to HIM...

I don't like Lashley at all but i'd love to see him vs Punk.

They stopped whatever momentum he was gaining on SD. I do agree that giving people titles too soon can cause their career to fail early. Look at guys like Tommy Rich and Bill GoldTURD (thanks to the late Curt Hennig for that name) both of whom were really over but fell flat after getting the title handed to them too soon. Yes they both remained somewhat relevant for the rest of their careers, but neither reached the levels the had previously enjoyed nor did they achieve their full potential.

Yes. They've absolutely ruined him. Giving him a world title and pushing him harder than anyone else on ECW. He'll never recover. Seriously, thats ridiculous. Sure, he's not that charismatic, but he's got all the skills. He still has plenty of time to get better.

Sure, he's not that charismatic, but he's got all the skills. He still has plenty of time to get better. That's the problem. They didn't wait for him to get better. The put him into a position that he's not ready for. The backlash could be that he's forever looked at as either a flash in the pan or a flop. They should have waited until he was ready before giving him a World title.

Usually when you ruin someones career, you don't give them the world title and a huge push.
