This question pops up every year, and 1992 always wins, not that it doesn't deserve to.
As for the others, I'll always agree 1995 sucked and last years left a little to be desired. I enjoyed 1999 from an entertainment standpoint, but I understand why other people hated it.
I also liked 1994 and 1997. I'm surprised 1993 doesn't get as much hate, though. That's the one that had few likely winners and the Savage "pinning" incident.

I thought 94, 96, and 97 were good.
Often overlooked is HBK's performance in the 94 Rumble where he came in and turned on Diesel while lasting to the final four. He was very good in that one as a supporting cast member.
96 saw Trips do a good job hanging in there while also giving us some great moments like Jake's return and throwing the snake out and Shawn eliminating Diesel to win.

Either '96 or '97.
I can't recall which (I think 97) but it had one of my favorite sequences...Stone Cold clearing the ring.
Austin is in, and he eliminates all other wrestlers in the ring, so he's alone, so he jogs around, looks at his wrist (As if he were checking the time) and the next wrestler comes out and he eliminates him within half the time till the next entrant. so again he goofs off a bit, sits on the top turnbuckle, checks his wrist, countdown hits 0, and we hear Bret Hart's Music (Austin was after Bret at the time) and the scene is of Austin's face...the man he wants to get hold of is coming out. Words don't do it justice but it was unforgettable for me.

1992 shouldn't even be a choice because it's just unfair.
Instead, I voted for 1997. Austin's dominance, looking at his wrist as he waited for the next guy to come in, his reaction to Hart, a creative ending. I've always enjoyed that one.

92's the obvious choice, but I really enjoyed the '98 rumble too, not only for the Austin/Rock battle at the end, showing what was to come in the future, but mostly for Dude Love, Cactus Jack, and Mankind in THE SAME MATCH? I mean. how is this possible? I thought they were all Mick Foley?!?!

The only reason I can't say 1992 is because DiBiase was eliminated within the first 2 minutes. I'm going with 2002 for the first performances of RVD and Booker, and the comebacks of Hennig, Goldust, and Bossman.

I agree 2002 was fun, particularly for being the first Rumble to feature a whole bunch of guys from WCW or ECW. But RVD and Booker should have been in there longer.

I think it was also done to put over how majorly surprising the match would be. Like, "BAM! Right off the bat, Ted DiBiase is gone! Who the hell could win this if he can be tossed so easily?!"

I have to say 1992 as well with 1997 in a real close second . That scene where Austin was doing push-ups in the ring and checking his watch was really good.

It's been rumored that Dibiase was nursing some sort of wrist injury right around RR 92 and Vince decided it was best to do away with him early.
