ROSIE O'DONNELL'S RESPONSE TO THE WWE RAW SKIT ON THE VIEW by Dave Scherer @ 12:57:00 PM on 1/9/2007
Being the diligent journalist that I am, I did something today that I had never done in my life before (and hopefully won't have to ever do again) and watched "The View" on ABC to see if Rosie O'Donnell would respond to the parody of her that WWE did last night on Raw. She did not.
The funny thing was that during the opening segment of the show, one of the other women mentioned someone "dropkicking" someone else, which would have been the perfect opening for Rosie had she chose to acknowledge WWE's silliness. Later in the show, former WCW Champion David Arquette was a guest, so I wondered if he would bring it up. He did not, and neither did Rosie.
So thus far, Rosie is doing the smart thing and completely ignoring WWE.

Wait....Someone ignoring a parody from an attention seeking company?
Why does this seem oddly familiar?

Or perhaps she simply hasn't seen it.

If she ignores it, good for her.
But more than likely, she'll fire back...and she'll attack all of us fans as "braindead, mysogynistic slobs" in the process.
Sometimes in this business, I feel like the guy that's riding in the car with someone that's got a lot of crack on them, and we get pulled over by the State Troopers.

Yea, I'll be shocked if she doesn't say anything-she went off on Kelly Ripa for something that had absolutely nothing to do with her, so why ignore this?

That's probably one of the best analogys I've heard on being a Wrestling fan.

And Vince wil go 'hihihihihihiihihih we gots media attention!' But it won't mean anything. Just a lot of women who never watched wrestling will never start watching wrestling. If Vince wants big ass media attention, he should bring in Osama Bin Laden and have him beat Cena for the world title.

You do realise that, although i'm sure Vince probably thinks this is all highly amusing, it's actually NBC's doing because they want to use WWE programming to advertise Trump and the new series of the apprentice because they happen to be put out to the same demographic

What does Mr. Scherer have against the view? As a dude, I find myself watching it 3/5 times out of the week. It's way good stuff. Today Kerry Washington was a special co-host, so that was pretty sweet.

Does this mean it's time for another Saturday night's main event? it seems like the perfect time-SNL sucks ass and the Apprentice just started a new season

It reminds me of a show we have in the UK called Loose Women which really is a guilty pleasure. But I just don't like Rosie as a host, nothing to do with the whole angle and stuff, it's just she's caused more harm than good IMO.

I wouldn't be suprised if NBC don't wait and have the Vince/Trump stuff culminate at a SNME.
Wasn't there one just before WM last year?

I mean, as far as we know, no new SNMEs are planned because the ratings the others got but on the other hand, NBC did think up most of this stuff.

I think it's safe to say that the show hasn't been the same since the deparcher of Meredith Vieira, but it still doesn't make it any less entertaining. Rosie does/did seem better fit for her own talk show, as it was a years ago. Even when she was going ga-ga for Tom Cruise (before he went crazy), that was fun stuff.
