One thing about The Rock is unlike most main eventers, he would always have random matches with guys who are lower on the card then him to give them a small rub.
I think he had some matches at times with Christian, Jeff Hardy, Gangrel, Val Venis and others, just as a match on the card with no previous angle, and whether Rock won or lost, he always did his best to put over the other guy.

I love the Christian/Rock interaction promo. Isn't this around the time that Christian started calling his fans "the Peeps?" If so, then I truly believe this is the point that his career truly began to take off. Sure he was great in the E&C gimmick, but he really found started to find himself at this point. I know its when I really started to enjoy his schtick.

I've always loved the Rock. And the fact that he came back for a couple of months in 02 just for the sole purpose of passing the title to Lesnar made him all the better in my eyes. The business needs more people like him, in more ways than one. I wasn't watching much wrestling during late 2001 through early 2003, but I ordered Summerslam 2002 just because of HBK's comeback match. It was a sad moment to see The Rock job so quickly and one sidedly to Brock.

Even though I grew up in Ontario, I loved Rock killing Toronto in that promo. Much like Shawn's promo in Montreal during the Hogan feud, it looked like Rock wanted to do that promo for a long time.

Again, is any more evidence needed to prove that the Rock is just too damn good for WWE's current product?

Remember when the rock made fun of Kurt Angle, Rikishi, The Undertaker, Triple H, and Stone Cold Steve Austin all in one interview

When and how did The Rock first go into his "Hollywood" persona?

When and how did The Rock first go into his "Hollywood" persona? I'm not sure, but it was shortly after he was booed out of the building during his match with 'Hollywood' Hulk Hogan the year previous. He then went on to make a movie or two with moderate success, came back, and bam.

When and how did The Rock first go into his "Hollywood" persona? In early 2003, when he had his rematch with Hogan @ No Way Out.

Thanks for posting these vids, I think Hollywood Rock was the most entertaining superstar i've ever seen!
McGoozle--Rock was booed at Wrestlemania X8 vs Hogan, then booed again during the Raw 10 year Anniversary awards show, then when he came back he was Hollywood Rock. They booed him at WM because they loved Hogan, but he was booed at the awards show because fans felt he turned their back on WWE by being a movie star. I was glad to see that they acknowledged the boos instead of just ignoring it.

The best part was that other than against Hogan, "Hollywood Heel Rock" got cheered against his opponants, especially Goldberg!

When and how did The Rock first go into his "Hollywood" persona? when he Went to Film the Rundown (I believe) and started to be booed at every Wrestling appearance because of it.
