how do I put this?
Crazy lesbian Stalkers do not a champion babyface make... I mean what's she gonna do? terrorize, stalk and lust after another female (heel) wrestler?
Every great gimmick gets neutered when it's either main event or has a belt (which is as close as a women in WWe will ever get to that equivalent).
Even Austin got a little lamer than Midcard crazy violent nutjob Austin who hated everything.

You're my boy Blue!
Sorry, it's automatic for me now when I see Dust in the Wind.
And really, without Trish where could they go with crazy Mickie?

She has been neutered but I still love her. I just wish they saw that she could easily be "the next Trish" if thats what they want by doing things her own way. All this hood slang Trish used made me vomit as shes about as hood as Shane McMahon. Now they're making Mickie do it?! Ugh.

In true fanboy/schoolboy crush fashion though, I've kept her CAW as close to her original incarnation as possible on SvR06.
Edit: Hmm, maybe I shouldn't have said that in this thread/out loud?

There is the potential for a great story here: Start by doing vignettes of Victoria in the ladies locker room, where she stumbles across Mickie's medication. She could do this either deliberately, by going through Mickie's things, or by finding the pills under a bench or however. Fade out with Victoria with an evil grin on her face, and do NOTHING MORE at this point. Then, we fast forward to Mickie in a match, say with Maria, or another babyface. The match is good, with Mickie dominating, but using her in ring skills as she is naturally the better wrestler. (Think back to the Chyna/Ivory match a few years ago, where Chyna held the belt and basically walked all over Ivory for 90% of the match. Then, Chyna did her flippy flop gymnastic thing and went into the corner, which 'injured' her neck. Suddenly the whole thing flips round and Ivory wins) Mickie and Maria in the ring, same match as before, when suddenly, Mickie either takes a bump, or simply stops dead in her tracks with a confused look on her face. Then she grins like a maniac and suddenly, out of nowhere, does something heelish to Maria, costing Mickie the match and leaving Maria prone in the ring. Mickie then goes backstage, walking up the ramp looking as though she isn't sure where she is. Later, but only by 10 or 15 minutes, Mickie is shown in the locker room, either looking through her bag (the implication that she is looking for her pills) or on the phone (the implication that she is talking to her doctor or a hospital) Maria then storms in and starts to get in Mickie's face about what happened in the match. Mickie is obviously totally oblivious to what happened, she may even think that they haven't actually had the match yet. Maria looks disgusted, and storms out, with an attitude of 'whatever'. Run this scenario as the build up to a Mickie vs Victoria payoff, possibly at WM, but all the time, Mickie must be completely unaware that Vic is tampering with her medication. Even up to the actual payoff match. If Mickie can turn psycho just for a few moments, and afterwards not remember it, it should pile heel heat onto Victoria, for being so underhand and despicable, all the while allowing Mickie's character to be the crazy chick we all fell in love with, while still getting great face sympathy because she is being played by the evil Victoria. It leaves plenty of options open down the line for turns from both wrestlers if this is needed, and also, the chance for the E to do one of their favoured 'fantasy' matches (the ones that make Jerry Lawler so happy), where Victoria comes to the ring in a nurses uniform and Mickie comes down in her old-psycho Mickie clothes, the implication being that Victoria is 'administering' to Mickie, making her go back to her old self. Of course all of this is far too subtle for the current creative crew, who feel that characters need to be so black and white and one dimensional, as the fans would have difficulty grasping any higher concepts. Rant over

I hate that every other diva has had to suffer because of the WWE's love fest with Trish over the last 5 years.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, there's lots of really good points that you guys have made.
I should clarify that I realize that Mickie can't be a lesbian stalker if she is to be the babyface. It's just that she doesn't have to be generic and dull either. Like when Mickie first debuted, she used to be the happy go lucky girl who would wear way too many florescent colors in her outfits and talk about her grandpappy. She was really cute, although the character still had depth because you knew that she was capable of having a dark side. It was just a matter of waiting for her dark side to come out, since nobody can stay THAT happy for long.
Her current face persona is devoid of all that, as she is basically just a smiling babyface now who wears tanktops and jeans. You know, kinda like Trish was. At least if WWE was more clever about it, they could have Mickie dressing and acting like Trish on purpose because it would be some storyline continuity. They could go the route of Mickie always wanting to be Trish, and she still does today even though the real Trish is gone.
I agree with what JMoney said, that the lead babyface has to act a certain way, similar to how even Steve Austin toned down when he became the face champ. I guess I am now regretting the fact that there isn't another diva who could be the lead babyface so that Mickie could keep her more intriguing character. Personally I always thought Mickie and Victoria were awesome as partners anyway. If WWE wanted to just "reboot" things, they could bring some new women wrestlers like Jillian over to Raw. They could bring Beth Phoenix back too. What's to say that Jillian and Beth couldn't be pushed as the "good" side and Mickie and Victoria could be the heels. Then when you add the second tier in with girls like Torrie and Candice and Maria, things could stay interesting.

This pretty much applies to all Heels who go Face in WWE over the last few years.

Well, we had the evil psycho of Victoria first, then when they decided not to push her, they gave that role to Mickie. Well, now that there's no babyface that can actually wrestle, they need to take one of the two and put them in that role, since they're the ONLY "divas" that can wrestle and, let's face it, Mickie looks better. Therefore, personality doesn't matter.
So, her character dies by default, and that really really sucks.

She is better as a heel, but right now she and Victoria are the only ones around who can actually wrestle, and since Victoria is a terrible face, this is what we get

We're seein Cena pt. 2. An interesting heel loses character to appeal to mass audience. I wouldn't hug Cena, though.
