Not even close. Kaufmann and Lawler was just an extension of the already hot feud with Jimmy Hart. K-Fed is a desperate play for ratings. More like K-Fed is a desperate play for Nitro's heel heat, K-Fed's album sales, and Cena getting face pops. And I hate to put Nitro in that list now, but Melina really takes the brunt of the heat they get in that, and he just doesn't get a lot, or at least hasn't been getting a lot until recently.

I was thinking that K-Fed could be more of a Honkey Tonk Man type. Not in his wrestling ability but in his abilty to draw huge heel heat and crowds wanting to see the crap beat out of him. WWE should have K-Fed take the whole runing away, DQ, cheep win route with K-Fed until it reaches a fever pitch and then have Cena destroy him at a ppv.

Just the fact that someone actually thinks that Fed-Ex is even comparable to Kaufman makes my blood boil.

No. If K-Fed ever appears on tv again, I think I'll be done with the WWE permanently.

Not far behind you, Spanky.
Anyone who thinks that Fed-Ex is a good thing for the WWE is truly a fool.

Strangely I don't consider myself a fool, but I suppose I could be one. Regardless I think that for a short term run WWE would be stupid not to use K-Fed. He needs exposure and he currently opens up avenues that aren't avalible to WWE in the rest of pop culture. He's the link that allows wrestling to once again cross their little pop culture bridge and become something relevant in the general sense. Plus he draws scary heel heat. Wrestling fans might not like it because it makes the bussiness seem like a joke but the fact is that Vince all ready treats it like a joke with stupid segments and forced dialog. I'd rather WWE use someone that the media gives a damn about rather than some random work who they don't. But that's just me.

The marriage is done.
I haven't heard the media say one damn thing about him since the marriage.
And the fact that a poser can beat Cena while Christian, Angle, and Jericho can't...
That's why I say that it's down right foolish to believe that this is any good for WWE in the long run.

That's gone so now his 15 minutes that were 16 too long are finally up and he can fade into obscurity.

Perhaps the best post as to why Fed-Ex isn't even in Kaufman's league... Let alone country.

i'm sorry, i think k-fed has done a great job playing off the hatred people already feel for him. he's not bad on the stick, better than any other celebrity they've ever brought in. hell, he's better than just about any other heel in the company. long term, no. short term? i see no reason to hate on him.
EDIT: by the way, he is no kaufman.

I never said good for WWE in the long run, but it will be in the short run, even if it's in the "oh this a horrible train wreck" sorta way. I think people are missing out on how thrilling it would be to the pop culture world to see K-Fed draged into wrestling as he desperately attempts to stay connected to the world his wife let him into. WWE can than take the attention that this wonderful crap will give them and use it to spin their product to a larger audence.

I don't watch E! because it's crap tv about people that I don't give a damn about. So what if Fed-Ex is an attention wh**e and will bring in the quick shock value, the people that they bring in will go away once he's gone... And the loyal fans will be pissed off even more than usual for having such a loser have tv time devoted to him.

If some of those people watched WWE in the short term to see what happened to K-Fed the temporary lose of the regular fan bases wouldn't be so bad. Some fans might really stop watching WWE forvever but I suspect the majority would come back in due time.

So what.
Really, so what.
The man (losing that term loosely) is not a celeb. He's not talented. And he's grasping for attention. Like it's said before, this isn't even being considered as a serious angle. It's being seen as a joke. And when your main champ is pinned by this jackass while legitimate wrestlers have left since being jobbed out to said champ, it's freakin' pathetic.

In comparisons like this I like to paraphrase my friend Jules when my other friend Vincent offered another erroneous comparison..
"It ain't the same ballpark, ain't the same league, ain't even the same f***in' sport."
