I like the complaining about the lack of putting people over when Raw put Kennedy over Lashley and CARLITO over Cean. Yeah, but what did Carlito's win mean? He apparently won thanks to Orton's interference, which means that under normal circumstances, Cena would have just destroyed him. When Carlito beats Cena clean, then he's putting him over. Until then, it's just building to the eventual mediocre Orton/Cena match. Not really, actually. Orton never touched him, and Cena wasn't pinned by a rollup or anything. He fell to Carlito's finisher, proving Carlito CAN beat Cena.

I just hope they don't go the WCW route and completely panic and do stupid crap they'll never recover from.

Why would he win cleanly over the best wrestler in the company (kayfabe). He should cheat to win and just winning should be enough for him to gain heat by saying he still has Cena's number. That's how I see it anyway.

Raw has its good days, but now you could afford to miss a show and not feel like you were left out of anything. It's just not that exciting or unpredictable anymore. If this rating stays this way and possibly gets lower then you could start to panic. This is true. I didn't see the show for three weeks recently, and I felt like I missed nothing.

Nobody saw this coming regardless of their boredom. It's impossible to pin this on one thing. Exactly. Blaming this on Benoit alone is just scapegoating. Same with blaming it on bad shows alone. It's a combination of different factors.

Those can irritate to the "I know it happened, I watched it!" crowd.

What does the win mean for Carlito? Nothing, because next week, he'll be back to feuding with Sandman or *insert faceless midcarder here* just like Monday never happened, and chances are it will never be acknowledged again, because now Orton's taken Carlito's heat because he's the reason Cena lost. It wasn't that Carlito won, it was that Cena lost because Orton distracted him.

I bet vince still doesn't see tna as a threat... In fairness, there's still no reason why he should. I like TNA a lot, but they're still well away from 'threat' mode to Raw. ECW maybe..

It's a combination of different factors. I actually agree with both of you. We'll see in time what the WWE does and if it will help.

I think if you're going to commit to giving a heel credibility, you should try to not go overboard with the shenanigans when they pick up wins. Note how villians like Edge and Ric Flair will have their segments when they dominate the hero, then the face comes back but then they win dirty to piss off the crowd. Carlito had his ass handed to him nonstop and pulled out a Backstabber to win thanks only to Orton catfighting with Cena.

My power went out Monday night. A transformer blew and I missed most of Raw. The entire block was without power. Maybe that had something to do with it.

Only major thing that's changed storyline wise since last week is Randy Orton being #1 contender.
And they're gonna put the belt on him?
Bad idea. This feud with him and Cena is not money.

JR wasn't hyping how "Orton cost Cena the match!" he was too busy harping on "How disrespectful!" the spit was. It is too bad that Lashley is injured, because I have a feeling he was going to be springboarding Carlito into the main event scene.

I don't know if somebody reported this:
It's the lowest rating since the December 31, 2001 show, who was a recap of the year, so I don't think it should count.
So we have to go back to the October 27, 1997 show. I took the result from Obsessed With Wrestling. October 27, 1997 - RAW: Hunter Hearst Helmsley def Goldust, Ahmed Johnson def Owen Hart (IC Champion) by DQ, Bret Hart (WWF Champion) vs Ken Shamrock ended in a No Contest, The New Blackjacks (Bradshaw & Windham) def Billy Gunn & Roaddog by DQ, Marc Mero def Flash Funk, Legion of Doom (Hawk & Animal) def Los Boriquas to retain the Tag Team titles.
I don't really remember this show, it did a 2.3... I remember that I loved the Los Boriquas song, Owen, Bret and Ahmed. I was a little in LOD, and I think it was in the beginning of the New Ages Outlaws.

it's a shame becauase RAW was good (For once)
They'll probably blame it on Cena/Lashley losing, you know what WWE is like
