All this coming out is just bulls***- one of the greatest wrestlers of all time died because of this crap, and these ten pricks STILL haven't learned their lessons.

Elevated liver enzymes, for the record, I believe. Although I could be wrong. And yeah, that was...rough period for Smackdown. That was three or four guys. This comes to 14. Much bigger magnitude. Very true. Completely aside from being upset about the scandal itself, I'm actually terribly interested to see how WWE handles this, creatively speaking.

The one thing those wrestlers should have definitely gotten introuble for, at the time they did it, was the fact that they ordered them online. There's no way to get around that with a loophole considering the reported rules of WWE's wellness policy. If they didn't get in any trouble then, then it was a "hush hush" type of deal, which makes WWE look really bad.

Am I one of the only people that really isn't all that upset? Didn't we all kind of know/suspect that this stuff was and has been going on for years? I mean, let's be honest, before now it was something of a joke...but in light of the recent deaths, now we want to seem like it's such a horrible thing?

I still doubt Regal, unless he got them for strictly medical purposes (And if that is the case and he didn't inform WWE he's a muppet for not doing so but at least has a legitimate reason). I say thos because I've read his book, and he just seems so positive he'll never touch a drug again except if it's for medical reasons.

I still don't think steroids had anything to do with you-know-who's suicide and the murder. It's just something people use for sensational headlines and avoid asking uncomfortable questions about domestic violence.

It's just something people use for sensational headlines and avoid asking uncomfortable questions about domestic violence. I won't say it didn't have anything to do with it, as I believe it definetly was some kind of a factor, but I don't believe it was the sole factor, so I suppose I halfway agree with you there. Honestly, I'm just sick of people beating my ears to death with "steroids this, steroids that".

Shouldn't we have been doing that beforehand, not making jokes about Masters and Steiner being juiced up...that was my point...

Uh, these guys have jobs because of that crap. Vince doesn't want to looke like your local indie-show. He wants guys that look like Batista, Cena, etc. Hell the boss juices himself, no way Vince is natural.

I'm a newbie to this forum and I don't know much about steroids. Do they lead to diminished mental capacity? Was this roid rage (I think the medical examiner said that it wasn't a factor, but the media says otherwise)? I just can't really think of how they played a part in it, especially if Benoit and Nancy were already in an abusive relationship.

I was just glad that WWE decided to do drug testing at all, and it wasn't because of the Benoit situation, It was because of the Eddie situation, which is less "media frenzy". Although they do want to save face with the general public, It's almost as if wrestling has to have the strictest drug testing in the world in order to save face, bacause of the negative steriotypes they get in relation to steroids. There is no 100% bulletproof grug test, and if you know enough about sterods, you can leagally get by any test, even if they know you're on them. But in wrestling, if someone fails a steroid test, WWE must be hiding something, but anywhere else, the frenzy dies down pretty quickly.
Pro wrestlers are a victim of the "post office= killer" mentality, as if muscles = testosterone. Yes, it does, but it's not "jokered" to wrestlers. Just like gun=killings, but shouldn't exclusively be talked about in relation to the post office.

Hands up who's surprised that some wrestlers use performance enhancers??
....no one?
So why all the controversy??
Maybe it's a slow news week.....

I just think that the deaths (especially he-who-must-not-be-named) really opened up everybodies eyes as to how much of a legit problem this is in the business. Everyone pretty much now knows the full extent of just how much damage that this crap can have on someone, and i thinks that's why people are taking it more seriously.

Well, honestly, I know very little of the whole thing, but "roid rage", in my opinion, doesn't make a person kill their family over a period of three days. That takes some other kind of mental illness again. If they did have anything to do with it, I'm gonna guess it was only a very minor part, and may have led to some kind of spousal abuse that would have led up to the murder itself, but that's all just speculation on my part.

And if that is Vince's policy, IMO his policy is wrong.

Wow. I heard one of my students mentioning this today and I was floored. I hated not being able to find out info on this. I couldn't help but think of terms like Black Friday or something.
