...I have always wanted to see them do...hell, anyone do.
Since the WWE Championship is vacant, I would love it if they do one of my favorite ideas ever: to have a massive tournament to determine a new champ. And it wouldn't just involve the Raw wrestlers. It would involve EVERYONE on the roster. From The Undertaker, to Tommy Dreamer, to Funaki. Hell, it could involve OVW and FCW wrestlers (whose results could be covered on their respected websites from WWE redirects).
Every match counts, every match could be covered...I would really love to see this come to fruition, as it could really capture people's attention and give fans people to root for (can you imagine the drive for Stevie alone, especially if he's booked to go deep).
Thoughts? Feelings?

I've been thinking of something similar, only with just RAW brand guys. They could easily do a month's tv for a big tournament if they chose to do so. Plus, they could give anybody they wanted a little push by having them do well in the tournament.
Naturally, this won't happen, but it's fun to imagine.

I'd like to see something like this.
It would give an opportunity for everyone on the roster to have something to do. Also, it would make each and every match mean more because the more matches you win, the closer you are to the WWE Championship. In turn, this would want to make more people tune into the shows because the matches actually mean something.
Although, I can't see them doing this with two other 'World' Championship belts in the promotion. Plus, they don't really have the attention span to plan out something as big as this. With Creative, everything seems so rushed.

It would be fun but too complicated. Plus, a couple of entertaining feuds would have to be put on hold or written exceedingly well to fit into the tournament.

Everyone gets their shot. They make of it what they want. I really wish someone would finally grow a set at WWE and see if they could put this in motion.

I think it just might work, because one of the biggest problems with their writing at the moment is everything being so predictable and boring, they're no longer getting the huge ratings they want every week. With this, they'll make people tune in because every single match actually means something, instead of the throwaway matches they have currently. I mean, who wants to see Cody Rhodes vs. Bob Holly? Give it a reason for happening, and people might watch.

24 wrestler tournament 3 brands (RAW, Smackdown, ECW) -- 8 seeds per brand. Winner of each brand advances to a triple threat match at Survivor Series.

Or, a 32-wrestler bracket. Top 24 guys from Raw, Smackdown, and ECW that don't currently hold titles get in (well, if you hold a title, you have to drop it to get in), then 16 guys not under contract to any of those brands compete for the last eight slots. Developmental play-in matches on WWE.com, seed 'em like the NCAA's, quarterfinals and up on Survivor Series.

As long as it's not predictable (HHH/Orton winning) then it could work

Anything to try to get Johnny Jeter to get called up.

I like the tournament idea, but spread out over weeks it would kinda get boring. I wish they would do something like the old KOTR 1 night only tournament, except make it longer than two or three matches in order to win...wait...I DID see WrestleMania 4...sorry guys
Perhaps they could whittle it down to the last 2 guys and then at a PPV have them do some sort of Ironman or 2 out of 3 falls kinda thing. I don't know. It seems that there is nothing really too special that can be done with a tournament.

They did it for the KOTR all the time before they pared it down. The fact is, a match is a match. I don't know why that's any more different from what they're doing now.

I don't see why it would be boring. Random matches would actually have a meaning, and you could potentially see matches that would never happen otherwise.

And the reason Super Crazy didn't count was because it wasn't "whoever wins the fastest wins the shot", but "whoever of you four wins your match against... uh, some guy gets it."

If I may "expand" on a few ideas already presented...
My "dream" scenario be a 65-man tournament ala March Madness. My first round matches would look like this:
Raw Division:
Randy Orton (1) (He's the #1 Contender, so he gets the top spot) Val Venis (16)
Triple H (3) William Regal (14)
Umaga (5) Hardcore Holly (12)
Trevor Murdoch (7) Brian Kendrick (10)
Carlito (8) Paul London (9)
Lance Cade (6) Santino Marella (11)
Ken Kennedy (4) Cody Rhodes (13)
Jeff Hardy (2) (IC Champ) Snitsky (15)
Smackdown Division
Final Spot Match: Deuce (16a) Domino (16b)
Batista (1) (World Champ) Deuce/Domino (16)
Undertaker (3) Chris Masters (14)
Matt Hardy (5) Jamie Noble (12)
Mark Henry (7) Chuck Palumbo (10)
Kane (8) Finlay (9)
Rey Mysterio (6) Jimmy Wang Yang (11)
MVP (4) Dave Taylor (13)
Great Khali (2) (#1 Contender) Kenny Dykstra (15)
ECW Division (Anyone who has worked for ECW is eligible. Here is where the OVW/FCW start to appear as well.)
CM Punk (1) Derrick Neikirk (16)
Tommy Dreamer (3) Antoni Polaski (14) (Roadkill)
Kevin Thorn (5) Nunzio (12)
Balls Mahoney (7) The Miz (10)
The Boogeyman (8) Stevie Richards (9)
Matt Striker (6) Super Crazy (11)
Elijah Burke (4) Mike Knox (13)
Big Daddy V (2) George Murdoch (15) (G-Rilla in FCW)
Free Agents/Other Division (Guys debuting, returning from injury, etc)
Edge (1) Ace Steel (16)
John Morrison (3) Johnny Jeter (14)
Shawn Michaels (5) Harry Smith (12)
Charlie Haas (7) Shawn Spears (10)
Afa Jr. (8) Teddy Hart (9)
Shelton Benjamin (6) Colt Cabana (11)
Chris Jericho (4) Mike Mondo (13)
Bobby Lashley (2) Vladimir Kozlov (15)
Now keep in mind that I am trying my best to stay as realistic as possible. It is for that reason that guys like Matt Sydal, King Booker, Chavo Guerrero, and Ric Flair were excluded.

I'm really not a fan of the Beat The Clock Challenge, for some reason.
